thank you for living up to the best your beliefs have to offer.

with very few exceptions, my flailings and rantings as i refine my own "truth" have been greeted with patience and kindness, or kindly ignored.. i do not foresee that i will ever return to a belief system that you hold dear, yet i do respect your beliefs - and appreciate your insights.

belief in fire is widespread, and there is a culture-spanning panorama of equating "earthly fire" to "heavenly fire" (encyclopedia britannica, "nature worship").. the divine source of fire is found in many mythos; a small sampling:.

greek prometheus, a giant, steals fire from the the god zeus.

cherokee the thunders, spirits from the above world, bring fire.

...there's gonna be kids, people just on the way into the troof, people just on the way out, a whole mish-mash of decisions and commitments and changing minds and innocents.

a difference of 5 minutes will save some and daestroy others.. just how does making armageddon happen in one year versus 100 years versus 1000 years change anything?

we all know samson's superhuman powers went away when his long hair got cut (as i understand it, he followed a god-approved faction that disallowed his cutting his hair).. we all know paul told us how unnatural it is for a man to have long hair ("nature itself" tells us).. did god change his mind?

what should a male do with his hair - cut it short, or wear it long?.

20th Anniversay

my partner and i celebrate our 20th anniversary today!.

hmm...a successful relationship outside of the the troof...who would've thought it possible.... anyways - 20 years without a raised voice, a fight, a heated argument; 20 years of mutual respect, even when not in agreement, and getting along; 20 years of love and kindness, and mutual support.. who would've thought a jw and a mormon could both recover and prosper...!.

ok...i see there are a fair number of posters here that have a "heavenly hope".... i can't help but wonder - what would it be like if a group of annointed (those that know in their hearts they will be resurrected to heaven) were to step up to the wbts, claim the authority the society vests in them as the true intermediaries between the great crowd and jesus, and try to give input to the gb?.

how could the gb posisbly say they are not part of the fds?

i suppose they would just paint everyone with the apostasy brush - "because i say they are and they disagree with me" - but wouldn't it be a marvel to see a group come forward to assert the authority and responsibility the gb says is vested in the fds?.
