by looloo inon a previous thread i wrote about the child abuse issues i mentioned to the 2 men at my door , but i also told them how awful i think it is that my 6 year olds jw granny had not been to visit her for almost a year (my disfellowshipped husbands mother) because of her beliefs , i said i think it very unchristian behavior and the older one actually agreed!
but the youger man said that he actually had 2 grandmothers that he had never met because they hate jehovah s witnesses and did not want to see him , i asked him if he was sure that was true and not just what his parents have told him , because when i was a study i was told of all these relatives that no longer wanted anything to do with dubbies when they found "the truth" but in my experiance it is actually the other way around and its actually the dubbies that dont bother with non jw relatives .
i also mentioned the 1914 thing and it was meant to be th e"end"then 1925 and so on , at this point they were worried they were talking to an apostate and asked if i was ever baptised , i said i had only been a study and carried on talking i told them to check out beth sarim and told them about rutherford being on to a good thing conning everyone into believing the mansion that he very kindly offered to live in till david,issac , abraham etc came back was really for them , the older man actually laughed and said "really" i told them to look up info out of watchtower literature if they were allowed in the kingdum hall library , they said they were allowed to do that !

i think it went well and i kept them listening because i was pleasant and friendly , i dont blame them as individuals for what happened even though just the sight of a jw brings back alot of bad memories .

How SAFE are children in the Kingdom Hall?
by wobble inthis topic is prompted by the recent one on abuse being an isolated incident.. the thread title is not that good, i mean to ask, how safe in the entire org.. the charities commission publishes these instructions for implementation here in the u.k :.
"procedures and systems provide clear step-by-step guidance on what to do in different circumstances and they clarify roles and responsibilities.
systems for recording information and dealing with complaints are also needed to ensure implementation and compliance.

does anyone have a number for the charity commision ? my daughters abuser was a min servant in the early 1990s , he abused a girl in the cong (a friend of his daughters ) and was "reprooved " around the same time my sister in law was disfellowshipped for smoking !!!! of course he went on to abuse again and raped one girl from the age of 13 untill she was 18 (another friend of his daughters.) he used to threaten to tell her mother what she had been "up to " if she did not do as he said , at the same time as this abuse he was having a relationship with a 17 year old pioneer (friend of his daughters ) who was seeing him till age 20 when they both got found out and disfellowshipped ! i went on to become close friends with this girl when i stopped attending meetings and my daughter was 7 , he eventually raped her age 13 on a regular basis and caused her horrendous damage mentally and physically . it came out in court , that the elders were aware of what he was but no parents were warned , i even asked an elders daughter why he never answered at meetings once , but was given no response ! my daughter would have been saved if the perp had been reported to the police back in the 90s instead of reprooved ! and parents should have been warned , the elders told me they begged the first victims parents to report it to the police but they did not want to , im not sure i believe it though . my childs abuser was a "nice " helpful "friend " or so i thought , so from my personal experiance i do not believe any child can be safe at a kingdom hall , where people take people on face value and believe all dubs are trustwourthy and all the "bad " people are on the outside .

by looloo ini left town after the court case for a fresh start , it was 18 months before dubs knocked on my door , so i told them why i was not interested in their message , aswell as the watchtower payouts in may 2007 ,with gag orders attached , they seemed quite shocked by that but warned me to be carefull what information i read on the web !
i told them that in america they do not make up the news !
they seemed quite shocked about what happened to my child but said it would have ben an isolated case !

thanyou for your kind words all , and i have heard the saying "we can not comment on individual cases "a few times also by local elders (obviously been told to keep quiet by the legal team at london .) a counseller told me i should sue though ,because of the fact had he been reported years earlier , when reprooved , my child would not have been abused as i would never have met the perp at the hall .

18 year old jw sis in law is getting wed !
by looloo inhaving got married at only 19 myself first time around i worry it wont work out for her , but at the same time hope it dosnt as it may help her escape eventually from the cult she was born into , i very much doubt whether her brother (my husband )and i will get a invite or her neice will be asked to be bridesmaid , she also has another disfellowshipped sis who would love to get to know her better as contact has been minimal sice she was disfellowshipped when my sis inlaw was very small , my sis in law is a pioneer and appears quite dedicated but struggles with ignoring her bro and sis , she also went to greece on a girly hol with a friend recently ,which im suprised is allowed in jw land , did any of you who were very dedicated as youngsters start to see things differently after getting married to a "strong in the truth" type i cant imagine her coping with being submissive as she is quite strong minded i believe she dumped a previous boyfriend for telling her what she could and could not do .
i would not have thought getting married at 18 would be considered a good idea, or do they prefer the females to marry young to keep control of them ?.

soft sentences for child killers has sparked prison protest plans.. around 100 people are expected to turn up at the demonstration outside low newton prison in county durham, where notorious inmate tracey connelly has been caged for her part in the death of her son, baby p.. the protest by the abused babies and children (abc) foundation was prompted by revelations connelly, her boyfriend steven barker and his brother jason owen have launched appeal bids against their sentences.. peter connelly, baby ps real name, died after suffering months of abuse.. haringey social services, doctors and the metropolitan police all failed to remove him from his mothers care despite evidence he was being abused.. tracey was ordered to be held indefinitely a minimum of five years after pleading guilty to a charge of causing or allowing the death of a child or vulnerable person and was transferred to low newton prison after receiving death threats in styals womens prison, cheshire.. as it emerged connelly had lodged an appeal, the abc foundations organiser mandy francis, 52, said: we were disgusted with the sentences handed out to these killers and then they decided to add insult to injury by appealing against their sentences.. we want to help get peter the justice he deserves and for the government to realise that people are fed up with the paltry sentences handed out by the courts in cases like this.
life should mean life.. the abc foundation, who will stage their protest on october 4, are also furious connelly, barker and owen could be given new identities for their protection.. barker, who was also convicted of raping a two-year-old girl, was jailed for life with a minimum of 10 years for the rape and a 12-year sentence for peters death.

i wonder if the guy who raped my daughter was in the same prison as him , despite being disfellowshipped and a child rapist he was very good at "preaching the good news" to anyone who would listen bastard hypocrite ! hes not been keeping very "good associations " latley ! they should never be let out , monsters !
