They aren't particularly media savvy. The smug earnestness with which he said the homosexuals love seeing you in tight pants, instead of incorporating it into a joke to make a serious point, has him coming across as a repressed homosexual.

I have Aspergers and I am married to a JW woman. Thank God I was born with Aspergers and I found Rastafari before i met my wife. Otherwise I might actually fit into their spiritual straight-jacket.

Have you investigated Gnostic Christianity?
by Gnostic Bishop inhave you investigated gnostic christianity?.
the gnostic wing of christianity, if it can even be called that today, has quite a few differences to christianity and catholicism.
if the old gnostic christians were here, they would hardly recognize what has happened to the original orthodox catholic church or its various offshoots in protestantism and islam.

Are you in contact with the Mandaean refugees of Iraq? Preserving the only unbroken ancient community of Gnostics must be of importance to Gnostics today.

Lowering the standards: The sign of a cult struggling for survival
by Hidden-Window inmany of the recent changes in the jehovah's witness organization are a clear sign of a cult that is struggling for survival.
the internet has change the scenario in a very dramatic way.
many of us who for years struggled alone with doubts and cognitive dissonance thinking that we were the only ones, that we, as individuals were the issue, now know that there is a large community of individuals who see the organization as what it is, a mind controlling cult that is not only false, but also dangerous.. the governing body clearly understands the consequences of this awakening.

The lost lawsuits, the dwindling leadership....read the history of the Worldwide Church of God and Herbert Armstrong. I have every reason to believe that the JWs will go through a similar meltdown.

A pastor should be free to refuse to marry a couple for any reason. BTW I am in an interracial marriage. Pastors are there to listen and minister to people but also to say NO to them and recommend them a more suitable minister and denomination
I think this reflects more on the wedding chapel industry. A good pastor won't marry people who shouldn't get married and should stay in the couple's life to see how they are doing.

Its interesting that you brought up a foreign language club, because the Esperanto movement would be a relatively wholesome association for an ex-JW. It tends to attract a lot of idealists. Instead of believing we are going to live forever in paradise, it is the movement hoping for a much humbler utopia in which everyone understands each other because they have compromised to not force an ethnic or national language on everybody but instead speak a simple constructed language. It tends to attract a lot of nerdy Unitarians, Bahais, Quakers, and Freethinkers but very few if any Nihilists, Gangsters, Religious Fundamentalists, Racists, or Right-Wing Nationalists. It isn't the most beautiful or practical language but it is easy.
Don't worry about those well behaved toddlers. Yours has a higher IQ and can kick those well behaved ones' diaper

New Article on BEARDS and Attire of Jehovah's Witnesses
by jwfacts ini have had requests to add an article about beards and jehovah's witnesses.
it is interesting that there is virtually no statement that says a witness cannot have a beard, yet universally they do not have beards.
i have scoured quotes from all the threads on jwn, all references to beard on the cd watchtower library, and copies of elders letters that i have.

Pope says Big bang and Evolution are correct !
by Phizzy infrom the u.k independent newspaper :.
" the theories of evolution and the big bang are real and god is not a magician with a magic wand, pope francis has declared.. speaking at the pontifical academy of sciences, the pope made comments which experts said put an end to the pseudo theories of creationism and intelligent design that some argue were encouraged by his predecessor, benedict xvi.. francis explained that both scientific theories were not incompatible with the existence of a creator arguing instead that they require it.. when we read about creation in genesis, we run the risk of imagining god was a magician, with a magic wand able to do everything.
but that is not so, francis said.. he added: he created human beings and let them develop according to the internal laws that he gave to each one so they would reach their fulfilment.. the big bang, which today we hold to be the origin of the world, does not contradict the intervention of the divine creator but, rather, requires it.. evolution in nature is not inconsistent with the notion of creation, because evolution requires the creation of beings that evolve.. the catholic church has long had a reputation for being anti-science most famously when galileo faced the inquisition and was forced to retract his heretic theory that the earth revolved around the sun.. but pope franciss comments were more in keeping with the progressive work of pope pius xii, who opened the door to the idea of evolution and actively welcomed the big bang theory.

The Raelians seem to have it all reconciled. Jehovah is a spaceman and we were planted here by crossbreeding with early hominids. But the more I read about them they seem like the LBGT equivalent of the Nation of Islam. Not my scene.
Theredeemer, I think you would enjoy having some Rastafarians come to your house and do a Bible study. I should move to Washington or Colorado and start my own door to door ministry.
