How to not get disfellowshipped even though you do not believe anymore
by BonaFide inthis has been working for me well in talking with family and friends about "the truth.".
1. before you bring up a topic, talk about how we are allowed to ask questions, and we are encouraged to do so.
i have tried saying, "one thing i like about the organization is that it encourages us to use our minds, and we don't get into trouble for asking questions, the organization loves questions like the ancient bereans did.. 2. always phrase things in the form of a question.

You are a gutsy person! I tried this for about 5yrs ( Had been a JW all my life ). In the end, for my own mental health - i just had to get out. It's all or nothing for me. I have many friends and family i left behind. Just couldn't be false to myself anymore. Not saying that of you - Everyone needs to do whatever it takes. Family is a precious "card" they hold over you always! Pricks! FF

Advice to Lurking Newbies?
by sweet pea ini was thinking about how it's a shame that all our potential newbies, who are undoubtedly still visiting for the first time and reading, aren't able to register and ask for everyone's help and advice with things they are experiencing right now.. so, if you had a few words of wisdom, encouragement, advice, what would it be?.
i have a feeling someone i once knew may be watching...... my advice would be:-.
don't be afraid.. if truth is truth it will stand, if it is false it will fall.. you are among friends who will not judge or condemn you for daring to use your brain, open your mind and ask questions.

Some good advice here. Sweet pea - i like this one too - If it is The Truth, then it MUST be able to stand up to ALL criticism. Truth is truth and is solid. If we can shake it up, and pull it apart, have doubts etc then it's not Truth. To me, that's very simple. FF

On what occasions do JW's give undue 'worship' to humans?
by jambon1 incelebrating birthdays is wrong according to the wts.
we all know their crazy reasoning on the matter.
so what are some occasions that jehovahs witnesses get involved with that give undue 'worship' to humans?

News from downunder - the mystery of the falling tower on 9/11
by ozziepost inappearing in our news today is this item which may, or may not, lay the conspiracy theories to bed.
us investigators solve 9/11 mysteryaugust 22, 2008, 8:32 am.
ap [enlarge photo]us investigators say they have solved the mystery of the collapse of world trade centre building seven in the september 11 attacks.. the 47 storey trapezoid sat north of the world trade centre towers, across vesey street in new york city's lower manhattan.. on september 11, it was set on fire by falling debris from the burning towers, but sceptics have long argued that fire and debris alone should not have brought down such a big steel and concrete structure.. scientists with the national institute of standards and technology say their three year investigation of the collapse determined the demise of wtc seven was actually the first time in the world a fire caused the total failure of a skyscraper.. "the reason for the collapse of world trade centre seven is no longer a mystery," said dr shyam sunder, the lead investigator on the team.. investigators also concluded that the collapse of the nearby towers broke the city water main, leaving the sprinkler system in the bottom half of the building without water.. the building has been the subject of a wide range of conspiracy theories for the last seven years, partly because the collapse occurred about seven hours after the twin towers came down.

I love this site! Hav'nt been here for sometime though, have a new life now... anyway. My 2 cents worth : I'm not very scientific, however i don't believe everything people tell me. For me - 911 has too many questions that are desperately trying to be answered by the U.S government with big, fancy "Scientific" words.I have a to say it's all Bullsh*t! The more they talk, the more stupid they sound. For questioning " The Truth" - you may be surprised at the conclusion. My "free-thinking" helped me get out of a religion that appeared to be correct to me for years. It's personal and it's great! FF

Hi guys and gals! I will be visiting my Jw parents in 2 months time. I am DF'd and no longer believe. My father is an Elder and my mum is fanatical. Can u give me just 5 points to bring up if necessary to help them understand why i now do not believe? Five points or arguments that may get them thinking seriously about what the org is teaching? Your help would be appreciated Regards FF

Fantasizing about the end of the Jehovah's Witnesses?
by Bring_the_Light ini'm pretty new here.

Would like to see it in my lifetime. Maybe i will or maybe not. The organisation has some great catch phrases to keep it alive. As we kmow " The Light Gets Brighter"( We can change doctrine and make up rules as we see fit) The men in the org are "imperfect"( The men make mistakes but won't admit them or say sorry to those they have hurt). It is " The Truth" ( If we keep calling it The Truth, then it MUST be!)etc I'd rather fantasize about many other things. FF
