one of my sons is in a program that trains sound engineers and producers..... granted he speaks in techno to a dinosaur ( moi) but what i can gather is that the new vision for the evolving music industry is going to be all about downloads.... evidently the industry is about to be shaken to its core .... it remains to be seen

Poor Losers?
by hillary_step inwell, the major record industry has shown its complete impotence in the face of rapidly changing musical technology and are now in court asserting that buying a cd and copying it to your own pc for personal use is an indictable offense and one which they will prosecute.. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/12/28/ar2007122800693.html?hpid=topnews.
it is no secret that the major record labels are crumbling before our eyes.
employees are being laid off in their thousands, shareholders are squealing like petulant piglets and their human commodities, the musicians are sitting on the sidelines wide-eyed.. i have never been an exponent of illegal downloading of music, though its inevitability should by now have produced some remodelling to the record companies business plan.

Official guide to punishing weak ones
by MissingLink inanyone want to help me put together this guide?
i think in the goal of "serving united" we need to have consistent standards.
you know what i'm talking about - when a "friend" of a faithful witness expresses some "weakness" the strong friend will punish the weak one.

Supplementary Guide to Excoriating Faders (to be printed and pasted in Official Guide)
Should an active congregant, classed as either weak or strong, hereafter referred to as borg, encounter an inactive member, hereafter referred to as fader, the borg shall engage the fader in the following manner: An cursory greeting may or may not be extended by the borg to the fader ( conscience of borg can determine appropriateness), but without fail, focus of said encounter will be shaming questioning as to inactivity of the fader, with complete inattention to any and all general courtesies of feigned interest in answers. Regardless of which party terminates encounter, borg will remain mindlessly secure in the false belief that they are superior to fader in all matters. Fader will secretly offer prayer to what powers may be, if any, that "There, but for the grace of _______ ( insert appropriate diety designation), go I."

Will the WTS start taking a hardline towards all the ''faders'' in the org?
by RULES & REGULATIONS in'' faders'' are a thorn on the sides of the wts.
they miss meetings, don't contribute any money, don't go out in service, and can contribute towards the ''spiritual sickness'' of the local congregations.. will there come a point where they will ask each and every ''fader'' if they wish to remain in or out of the congregation?
can they come up with scriptures to warn the congregation that you are a ''fader'' and are be marked?

from what i can ascertain, there isnt enough manpower to track down the "disaffected" to determine if they are malcontents or simply overwhelmed individuals who cannot continue to devote the "15 hours a week" jah requests of his stepfords..... somehow i think a mass excommunication would look bad in the stats and definitely damage the fragile morale of those teetering on the brink.......
still.... it is an interesting line of thought!!!

7 ELEMENTS OF A CULTIC GROUP
1) A centralized form of leadership that rules with unquestioned authority
2) A body of convictions, beliefs, and practices set forth boldly as "the truth"
3) A compelling presentation of the group vision to prospects that is inviting and challenging
4) A series of manipulative socializing sessions to instill psychological dependence on the group
5) A definable process of group dynamics used to unethically control and manipulate members
6) A history of abuses of authority by group leaders freely using deception and fear tactics
7) A history of psychological and spiritual abuses of group members that destroy lives

I went to the doctor today and was told I'm going to hell!!!!!!!!!!
by changeling ini went to my gp today.
i go there quite often since he's also my parent's doctor and i bring them to all their appointments.. i take my dad there at least once a month for blood work since he is on blood thinners, so i'm very familiar with the lady who draws blood.. today i had to have blood drawn myself, and the lady inquired about my parents.

Guess who came to our house on Christmas Day...
by exwitless inif you guessed dubs, you're right.
it was around 11:30 a.m., just as i was lazily dozing off on the couch, exhausted because my 9 year old woke me up at 5:30 a.m. (he couldn't wait any longer to look through his stocking!).
i was rudely awakened to the sound of a car door slam in our driveway.

It was mortifying to bother people while they are still in their jammies wading through wrapping paper to their front doors, the sounds of toys, tv and laughter in the background, the smells of bacon and toast and loved ones calling them to breakfast, while we kept them at the doors allowing a stiff cold winter breeze to blow through their loved filled warm happy houses.
that is so the definition of a buzz kill
