Counseling/Guiding your kids on their sexual awakening...

if the mods feel this should be moved to 'relationships', which is clearly labeled 'sex', that's fine.

i think it more appropriately falls under 'family, teens', as i am looking for advice from parents with kids about how they plan to manage/guide their child's transformation from teen to adult.. do you still subscribe to the no-sex-before-marriage rule for your kids?

i, personally, don't.

always we have provided information about the precautions necessary and the ramifications for carelessness in terms of disease and unplanned pregnancies...... having had a close, beloved family member die of AIDS certainly reinforced the need for caution....prudence is not prudery, so i feel it is incumbent on me to squawk and wing flap in my role as mother hen on the practical issues, not my sense of morality.... reality is they need to make responsible decisions!!

we deal not only with the typical issues of the normal facets of awakening sexuality, but also with the complications that stem from CSA and sexual assault and homosexuality...

all we can do is love them and offer guidance and reassure them they are loved, mate.... it comes down to that.... their lives are theirs.... rich, full, complicated....

i don't know why but i like watching men work on building stuff (except one day kingdumb h's).

there is precision involved, there's muscle invoved, creative talent.

to think that the greedy wt$ would always take advange of very talented young men for free to further it's own bottom line.

most of my cordless tools are DeWalt .... the corded one are craftsman and milwaukee

but the hand tools are craftsman.... except for the ones that are snap on.....

my major building/maintenance feats include a 4 stall stable, a foundation built under a jacked 2 story house, several room remodels, incl a basement with knotty pine tongue and groove, and the latest was a re-roof of over 2200 sq ft..... next project is a granite tile counter top

1. bethel in ny suspect high level apostate, cant identify it but know its there.

2. major organizational changes about to start rolling out, one is changes to the "service committee" and titles, po to be done away with, thats all i know for now.

was told that if you are the sort of person that cant handle changes, you wont stay in the org for long.

he was referring to providing financially / materially for the needs of both the WIDOWS and the GOOD SHEPHERDS... neither of which JW's do today!

just a wee bit of clarification.... the PO was widowed, and hence had been thru MTS, and was sent to the cong to assist its flagging and waning zeal.... and he was GENEROUSLY supported in terms of housing, meals, cleaning, laundry, sewing, fuel and vehicle maintenance as he was a pioneer and had not even looked for employment..... ( personally we provided free housing for 4 months, many meals and gift certificates for fuel and a set of 4 new tires ).......

he made that statement about being financially supported in ADDITION to the numerous contributions made to assist him

his widowed state was and as far as i know still is being exploited because he refused to even learn how to make coffee, claiming a terminal ineptness... other "good shepherds" in the BOE seemed to be able to keep body and soul together with wives, children and dependent parents.... one as a "window washer" and a few others with "janitorial services" as well as a baker and a machinist..... just saying.... he was milking it pretty good and still felt entitled to more

for a period of time he was a substitute CO and complained about the fact there was no remuneration for the sub CO, so he was focusing on climbing that non-existant ladder to become a CO...

i received a pm from another long time poster - this poster has been out about the same time as i have - his circumstances in getting to his place have been quite different from mine.

yet, he stated he feels that he is in the same place re: religion, spirituality, etc.

so last nite he calls - and we had a wonderful conversation.

i would not turn away one who comes for assistance ( and a few still do, the ONLY time we hear from them!) but i also now am engaged in "ministering" to individuals who ask for no allegiance to an organization or a singular philosophy......just empathetic listening and PRACTICAL assistance, not some worn out jargon about waiting......

the avatar is a nod to my work..... i am in alternative healthcare and have what my clients call "healing hands"

my 14 yo daughter will be performing a solo in her high school's winter pops concert.... featuring the choirs and bands as well as individual talent..... she wrote music and lyrics, a sweet melody on the piano.....there are a few bands at the local "punk shows" that do a cover and when her papa and i first heard it we thought>>> d@mn, that even sounds good distorted!.

note: none of the mentioned "friends" are from the cong, where she was brutalized by the "it" girls as she has had weight issues since being on steroids for asthma when she was younger.

upon the altar of evil

so i have already mentioned that i am a member/mod on a forum for survivors of csa..... it is at best, disturbing, and at worst, horrifying, to have to daily access the telling of truths that illuminate the unlimited, intentional and unbelievable evil people will perpetrate on those most vulnerable, the children and it is also most rewarding to assist those souls on their healing paths as they sift thru the debris and literal carnage to reclaim something of themselves.

most often i am able to keep it in perspective and hold it all at arm's length..... but this afternoon there was a thread about cults, sra linked, and there was discussion about participation in *fferings, and the guilt and shame and body memories that rob individuals of any real peace...... it twisted my guts and led me to tears...... i cannot imagine the horror of that legacy..... and while the borg doesnt demand fleshly *fferings, i could not help but make the leap that they demand the sl@ughter of family ties and relationships to appease their savage god in order to keep his/their followers in dread and paralyzing fear, brainwashing and programming members to respond to "c@ll b@cks" and cues as they march in lockstep chanting their anthems of paradise and anointed and resurrection hopes.

it has become almost unbearably clear to me how evil the leadership truly is and i am sick to my core that my hope, my intent, my fervent wish to "save my children from the world" instead served to strangle their very spirits and warp their world view.... i unknowingly *ffered them to the borg and now truly understand ..... mea culpa mea culpa mea maxima culpa......

please allow a clarification.... none of my children are "active" ..... the harm that i speak of is that which is residual from having spent their developmental years withheld from a "normal" life and the fallout because of that, which has been considerable, including a child Dx'd with a mental illness..... two kids taken into emergency detention because of su!c!de attempts.... just harm harm harm to their well being and self esteem because i could not see 'the truth"
