Apparently the answer is "YES".

i do know one agency (i will not give a clue what kind of agency is it, etc...) that was run by a straight married female and her staff did not have any gay people in it and she quit to move to another state with her husband.
the board of directors hired a gay male to head the staff, the staff slowly quit by one by one for some unknown reasons and he begin to hire gay people to work for him, i now do not see any single straight worker working for him, is that discrimination for not hiring straight people?.
Apparently the answer is "YES".

i know anyone who believes in evolution is going to say that there is no 'if' about it.
however.... if man evolved over hundreds of thousands of years ago, why were there only about 200-300 million people alive 2,000 years ago?
surely there'd have been many billions by then?.
in another thread, what's new for 2013 - lo nuevo de 2013, jwn member, oppostate, posted news of dc releases at this year's district conventions.
among the releases was this: .
a new dvd for 2013: the return of the prodigal son.
:But I think its also designed to try to give false hope to long time JWs who have kids that have left the religion.
Oh yes, my parents keep hoping for my sister and me to come back to the fold.
The entire process of judicial committees, public announcement, disfellowshipping, shunning, sitting at the back of the halls, the long wait to get back in -- is entirely man made. It's true that Paul told the 1st century group to remove the wicked man from among yourselves. The JW's jump on that and assume that everything else in the process is from the Bible and not from the mind of JF Rutherford and his successors.

There is a scientific method that shows the earth is more than 100,000 years old. You can manually count the rings in the ice cores, and it counts as one per year. That stands up to scrutiny.
No need to try to reconcile it with the Bible. The Bible is a book of faith, not a book of science.
sorry i have been looking and looking trying to find an article on what is the growth disparity between 1st and 3rd world contries.
cant find it.
i think it been 2nd world countries were groing at 200% and 3rd world countries were growing at 300% more than 1st world countries.
Here's a page that talks about the difference in growth rates between rich and poor countries. However it doesn't quantify it.

another poster on here called separation of powers made a profound comment on another thread recently that i thought was worthy of starting a new thread about:.
"in my opinion, the new light regarding the fds addresses this question, if there was no fds from the 3rd century on until 1918, and yet the article states that there were anointed followers here and there during that almost 2000 years of no fds, then what organization did they follow?
there was no organization, yet they were anointed per the article.
I remember the Watchtower's point that there were always true worshippers. They make that point when they say at the annual Memorial of Jesus' death 'this is the 1981st annual celebration of the Memorial", stating that true worshippers have celebrated it each year (even when no organization was available to help them).
But in the last days, they claim that people would have to identify the true religion / organization and follow it to be approved. One scripture they quote in support of this idea is Daniel 12:4 " make secret the words and seal up the book, until the time of [the] end. Many will rove about, and the [true] knowledge will become abundant". To them, the "roving about" in the Bible is the activity of the faithful slave class opening up truths, and true knowledge becomes abundant.
Then they use the idea of Noah's ark to show you have to get in line with the one dispensing truths when that one appears. And they claim to be that one.
So basically the #1 teaching of the WTS is that our organization is the one publishing the truth, and you must follow us to survive the end. It's all very self-serving, and it works for them. They still have 7 million publishers.

Sorry - What kind of growth do you mean?
Since you posted this in the "Watchtower - Beliefs, Doctrines, Practices" forum are you talking about growth of the number of Witnesses?
i am new here and briefly want to introduce myself.. my name is michel and i am from the netherlands.
became baptized when i was 14, started pioneering when i got 18 and i've been ms for a number of years.
i married another pioneer and after a while we joined a foreign language congregation.
Freedom,
I am glad that you went to that Microsoft convention and that your JW acquaintance took the chance to speak up and expose the WTS / UN affair.
I'm sorry to hear you lost your family over this. However I am glad you have been able to help people break the chains that bound them to a lying, conniving organization posing as a religion.
as some of you know several weeks ago i was disfellowshipped for several reasons, but primarily my thoughts on the organization.
last night i had a very interesting conversations with my wife after she came back from the meeting and several things jumped out at me that made see even more clearly how sick this religion is.
first of all, several months ago we attended a wedding of a friend.
Yes, very interesting! We pay a price for integrity to ourselves and to the actual truth, not "truth" as dreamed up and enforced by a bunch of men.
If the faith someone has is strong, a few little questions or an honest challenge shouldn't blow it over. These people have to keep telling themselves over and over this is true. Can you imagine a bunch of math majors convening every week or year to convince themselves that their mathematical theorems and postulations they learned in school is still true, and chanting or singing songs to remind themselves how true their truth is?
I was most shocked by your wife's quote "do you disfellowshipped people think that anyone cares about you"? That's really something for somebody to tell their mate. Not to get too personal, but is she alienating you? That must be hard to deal with.
i can't even count the number of talks that have mentioned......."why build(paint, fix, etc.
) on a sinking ship?.
of course referring to the world in general.. these days i'm thinking that maybe the "sinking ship" is the watchtower society......... the magazing will probably be down to 2 pages in a few more years........ in our area most of the cities that had 4 congregations are now down to 2, and i know of several.
I think the JW's will point to the bottom-line membership numbers their organization reports, 7 million and growing. They will see that as evidence of Jehovah's blessing, the little one becoming a thousand, etc., etc.
The WT Society has enough funds and enough wits and wiles to keep going for a while. They will find uneducated people in this world to exploit. However in Western society and places where the Internet makes a large amount of history and information available, the growth of the Watchtower movement is slowing. The WT Society is losing the battle of information control because the information they don't want people to know is in available in almost everyone's pocket now.
