  Thanks for the post about this Connaughty.

  I think it will make some people think but if a person has it in their mind that it just "happened" they aren't going to change their minds because they just don't want to. Just like I will never change my mind that there is absolutely a creator even if I don't know him and I can't see him. Maybe its the fact that it was instilled in me by my parents and growing up as a JW. I think its scarey to think it just happened because what if something goes wrong and there is no one to fix it. Its also scarey to think that a All powerful God made all this and that we must answer to him.

  It seems once we get a mind set people have a hard time changing. I think its the same with the witnesses, they have a mind set and they won't change even though the facts are in front of them.

  Why do you Connaughty think people don't want to believe in a creator???

  Why do some of you who have been Jehovah's Witnesses now believe there is NO creator? That means you have changed your mind set.

  I am simply curious.

  my beautiful daughter is in the latest kfc ad here in sa.

  it's the ad where kids "steal" things from the house to deorate their tree house.

  You have a right to be proud and excited about it. Wish we could see it but I am sure we won't over here in Canada

  I like to hear about personal stories of people who are struggling or have struggled with leaving the Watchtower Society.

  I like to hear about anything concerning new information about the JW org and why we think it is wrong as well as what they are telling the Flock through their publications. I don't have a source to get the publications anymore.

  I like sharing information about things we learn day to day that concerns our day to day living. Not necessarily JW stuff.

  OF Course the FUNNY stuff

  I do not like hearing people being sarcastic and hateful when referring to the organization or the people in it. We were there once ourselves.

  This Past Week Has Been Hell!

  last friday morning, my wife was attacked while waiting to transfer between buses.

  normally, she has the car, and i commute to school, however this day i had to take the car in for some repairs, and then commute to school.

  she fought off this guy for some time, and walked away with scratches, scrapes, and some bruises.

  That is just a horrible nightmare for you and your poor wife. I feel so bad for you both, just can't imagine having something like that happen but I do know I would be horrified if it happened to me or one of my daughters.

  Don't feel guilty, it certainly was not something that you could have done anything about. Time and circumstances unfortunately happens sometimes..

  I hope they lock that person up for a long time

  everyone has their own avenue of exit...for some fading is the right way for some like me i wanted a clean break being in for 28 years all adult life it was the only for me...just find your freedom anyway you can live your life and don't look back...

  It certainly is a dilemma for you Scooby, and I feel for you, it has to be very difficult for you feeling the way you do. You certainly sound like you have a good heart and wish to do the right thing.

  It doesn't seem fair that a person has to deal with this when they didn't ask to be Gay.

  Anyone got their meeting cancelled for snow or ice?

  with the big snowstorm this past weekend, did anyone get their boasting session cancelled?

  or, were they foolhardy and so stupid that, even though there was 4 feet of snow and/or the power lines were down, they decided to hold the damn thing anyway?.

  We couldn't get out of our street yesterday, needed a snowmobile. I don't go to meetings anymore thankfully. I feel bad for you if you still do have to go.

  When I was a witness as a child my parents would not miss a meeting unless they were VERY SICK and contagious otherwise weather would not stop them.

  We ended up in so many deep ditches on the way to the meeting or home from it. I am still scared to death of driving in snow to this day. Once we were on this lonely country road and spun out on the way home from a meeting, the car rammed into a deep ditch, I can still remember the feel of the car banging us around violently and the sound of the car grinding through the snow. We didn't have seat belts in those days. We then had to get out of the car in deep snow up to our thighs and climb out of the ditch. My Mom and I had meeting clothes on and were not dressed warm and our boots were not the ones we would use for walking. We had to walk down the road in a blizzard for about 1/2 mile and then down a Long driveway to a dark farmhouse. We banged on the door and shouted and finally a farmer came to the door with a shotgun. He wouldn't let us in but said he would phone some friends to come and tow us out. FUN. I would vote for the meeting cancellation.

  For those who helped family OUT of the Org.........

  i think this is an important topic to review time to time because so many people on jwd have seen the light and want out but have family still in.

  what advice can you give others that helped you get your family out?

  that is truely wonderful that you were able to do it reasonably. I don't have anyone to help out of it but I sure would be asking your advice if I did.
