to be recommended for eldership you must first show yourself worthy through works, such as meeting attendance and participation, field service hours and having the "right attitude" (meaning they are organization men).
many ms will become elder's shadows, in hopes to be recommended by them for eldership.
nepotism and bias runs in my congregation.we have 4 elders who are all related.
Seems to be with our congregation that all of our Elders have money. They have nice houses, cars and material things.
I think they put the idea out there; "if you say your prayers and be a good boy, you gonna have money and be an Elder." That seems to be the case with just about every congregation I have been in.
Of course sometimes there is one truely zealous Elder, with no money, but that's rare.

You should read "Emotional Intelligence" by Daniel Goleman. Its a great book on feelings and your whole range of emotions.
Once you know and understand why it is that you do what you do, you can work on helping that part of you. It explores several ways for dealing with your emotions. Great book, it has helped me immensely.

Nice Comment Aleman, I think you have an uncanny ability to provoke either the best in people or the worst. Either way it incites communication and discussion.
There's nothing wrong with being "happy" as you say in your comment, but I ask you, do you really believe most Witnesses are Happy Serving Jehovah? Do they really believe they are serving Jehovah with our regimented field service arrangement? I dont think so. I believe that most JW's feel they are serving an Organization as I do.
As for your Numbers 12:1-10 comment: I think this forum for me personally is Therapeutic. Life as a Jehovahs Witness is extremely difficult, When I come onto this forum I feel like I can say anything, without the feeling of Anxiousness, Fearfulness, Dreading ect. ect. Because I know that if I make any comment not In agreement with the WT magazine to anyone in my Circle of Friends, I will be in deep trouble. Why is that? Have you asked yourself that? If I say anything opposite to WT doctrine even if it is false now, but turns into truth 50 years from now, I am worthy on Death forever. Seems strange.
Anyways Aleman, life is short, be true to yourself.

i have noticed, and posted a little bit about all the buzz surrounding this year.
there is a little bit of a whisper campaign going around that armageddon is coming this year.
from other posts i notice im not the only one who is seeing this, there is alot of "reminders" that we need to be obedient and trusting of the fds ( which i am of course), along with reminders to stock up and prepare for disasters etc they are really pointing to something.
I havent heard anything like that. But we have elders saying that we will get "specific instructions" for armegedon at the District Convention for this year. - So dont miss it!!!

my friends are acting a bit different.
Its the same old, same old "bite me". CO's are always field service oriented.
They come in, make us feel guilty that we aren't going out in service enough, not enough hours, bookstudies etc, etc, etc. They constantly make us feel like we are not worthy, make us feel guilty. The make us feel that we are not serving God unless we go to meeting service, knock on doors with a sermon, place magazines. Success to them is all about the numbers. CO's come in, make all kinds of waves in our already complicated lives, (work for a living, time with kids, time with wife, household responsiblities, meetings 3-5 times a week, WT rag, KM, TMS) after all the stuff we do, they still come in and make us feel guilty. So yeah its the same old same old, thats why your friends are acting different.
