  Today's Logic Puzzle

  in a certain circuit, all elders are jerks.. 1/2 of all the ministerial servants are also jerks.. 1/2 of all the jerks in that circuit are elders.. there are 40 elders are 46 ministerial servants.. no elder is a ministerial servant.. 1/2 of the number of jerks who are not elders or ministerial servants are pedophiles.. how many pedophiles are there in that circuit?.

  The question allows people to key off the fact that there are 80 jerks in the circuit based on the fact that 1/2 of all the jerks are elders and all the elders are jerks. Therefore, if there are 40 elders then there are 80 jerks in the circuit.

  If Half of the Ministerial Servants (1/2 of 46) are jerks then 23 Ministerial Servants are jerks too.

  So 40 Elders + 23 Ministerial Servants gives 63 jerks. That means there are 17 Jerks who are not either Ministerial Servamts or Elders.

  1/2 of that remaining number of Jerks are Pedophiles – thus giving you 8½ jerks who are pedophiles.

  So the important question (which I think has an obvious answer) is are all Pedophiles Jerks?

  The obvious answer is 8/12. But since it is impossible to have half a person, according to Farkel you must be one “jerk off”!!!!!

  Is this world ruled by Demons and are we?

  to me, one of the most pathetic and lamest of all watchtower teachings is the fantasy that satan and the demons rule the world.

  the witnesses are terrified of these demons getting into their minds through everything from wearing old clothes bought at the thrift store to smoking cigarettes (remember all drugs give demons easy access to your mind.).

  they would have you believe that each country on earth is controlled by really big mean and tough demons (hey demons cant be nice you know) and they are actively controlling the minds of the political leaders in a global chess game because they have nothing better to do.. i was wondering then if anyone can show me a single itsy bitsy tiny amount of evidence to show any credible physical evidence or logical/metaphysical reasoning to back the jw ideological boogey men.

  Also, Daimler committed more than 10 times the amount of GM or Ford. VW 5 times as much.

  I hope to see Americans being 10 times more loyal in their buying patterns when they consider buying their Mercedes over a GM or Ford vehicle.

  And I hope to see 5times the loyalty to VW as opposed to GM and Ford.

  Xenophobia shows its stupidity once again.

  We cannot prove it either way at this point. The technology to prove whether quantum physics is involved in consciousness or not is still not developed fully.

  I acknowledge that this thread is about whether consciousness is best "described" by quantum theory. Sorry if I assumed that we would get into whether it is about god or not. It is a favorite subject for creationsits to bring up (hence my prior post).

  As far as my opinions on it go - I tend to agree with the work done on synaptic physiology to correlate how consciousness and the internal workings of synaptic formation and strengthening can potenitally creat consciousness. The stronger the synaptic cord gets the more it starts affecting/being part of what we call consciousness. Frederick Beck is a good person to search for with regard to his work on synapses and consciousness.

  With regard to physics and quantum theory and how it relates check out the work by theory of Objective Reduction from Roger Penrose but also check out the criticism thereof by Rick Grush. A web search should get this info for you.

  From my cynically biased vantage point I will generalize and say that all the therapists I have ever met are some of the most psychologically in need of something to bring them back to reality.

  Now don't all stone me at once - I am sure many will take a shot but that will just prove my point. Prove that you are mature therapists and convince us properly. Flame me and you are a nut - just like me!!

  I have read a lot about the subject and concluded that there are an abundance of theories. For a good summary of many of them try http://www.thymos.com/science/qc.html

  I will be one of the first to agree that science cannot totally disprove that God exists (and the debate about the evolution of conciousness is one of the proimary arguments used by creationists) but once again the onus is on the creationists and God himself to show that he exists - especially if humans are expected to live under all the demands imposed on them by the so called "holy-books" of all the faiths in the world.

  (note - I use the term faiths not religions. This is because many of the people on this board think they can say they are spiritual and not religious. The "opium" is very strong...)
