Congratulations! I agree with all- the name is beautiful. Kind of old fashioned, I love it! Nothing like a new baby to remind you that there is hope, true beauty and light in this world. -Potential

The Watchtower trembles before appostates.
by edmond dantes ininstead of disfellowshipping for appostacy why don't the witlesses just tell the so called apostates, it's ok ,just don't disrupt the meetings.if they did this would there be less hassle all round.
other organisations have different allied sections but the whacktower org.
isn't strong enough to embrace dissent , it stands on very shaky ground as regard doctrine and practice.in fact they don't know the first thing about good practice they need a suggestion box in the kingdumb hall for a start and a few lessons in democracy wouldn't go amiss.all dictatorships are afraid of the voice of the people.

anyone else feel inadequate
by 46&2 inover the past 10 years ive tried coming back to the truth only to find myself back in the world doing silly things again and again.
i am onnce again determined to come back to the truth but feel that i am beyond redemption.
i feel ashamed going to talk to the elders cause they have dealt with me on two other occasions once being disfellowshipped 10 years ago and reproved two years ago.

46&2- Welcome to the board. The Doc has something there- just because the Watchtower says you committed offenses doesn't necessarily mean God considers your actions offensive to Him. If you lurk around the board a bit you'll find that many of the doctrines of "the truth" are actually lies. Many of the Witness beliefs may be "Bible based" but they add in things that are not taken from the Bible and are not supported by it. Logic- welcome to you, too. Another good point- "the truth" is not always the truth! -Potential

I dreamed I was an ACTIVE WITNESS
by berylblue inin my maidenform bra.. .
don't know what made me remember that old ad.. .
if you're old enough to remember those stupid maidenform advertisements, you're old enough to remember some really bad ads.....sheesh, and the men's rights activists complain about how men are portrayed as dummies in commercials?

Sounds terrifying! Not the bra- the prospect of being active...I do remember those pointy bras- YIKES! The laundry remark made me instantly think of the old ads featuring the "ancient Chinese secret" ha ha! -Potential

What's your favorite dinner?
by beksbks inhome cooked, healthy if possible?
mine is probably some sort of salad.

My favorite is as Orbison said- anything made by some one else! Preferably Mexican food- start with a fiery salsa and chips, maybe some chile con queso and a great guacamole (not just mashed up avocados, but with lemon, spices, onion and tomatoes mixed in). Then onto the main course- I love crispy chicken tacos, or a really good enchilada verde (with tomatillo sauce), refried beans on the side and homemade flour tortillas. Ice tea is my drink of choice- unsweet, please! Running a close second- BBQ chicken or smoked turkey with pinto beans, potato salad (or baked potato) and/or cole slaw, and iced tea of course. If I hafta make it myself I love a huge vegetable salad with spinach for the base instead of iceberg or romaine, with everything on it! -Potential

Hummingbirds are back
by BrentR ineven though it's snowing right now.. my wife just hung out the feeders a couple days ago.
i shot the pics off of our covered porch.. .

Brent- Great photos!
I just saw my first hummer of the season this morning- how serendipitous! The ones we have here are as Purza described, the ruby throated ones with a green body, really pretty.
I have a trick for the ants Momz- vaseline or any petroleum jelly. Ants hate it, and if you smear some on the top of your feeder or anywhere the ants might access it they won't cross the vaseline line. I had the same problem until I read the tip somewhere last year and tried it- it really does work. Saves work too, from having to clean the dang piss ants out of the feeders!
I've read that if you have more than one feed you should put it in a place that is out of sight of any other feeders, that way the birds don't get so agitated over the other hummers in the area.

My JW Daughter Calls Me - First Time in 9 Months - Great Conversation !
by flipper inas many of you know , me and my fading 23 year old son have been trying to reach out to my polite 21 year old jw daughter .
sending cards, letters , phone calls just to let her know we love her, miss her , and remind her of good family times we've had in the past !
not being pushy - just being authentic with her !

Jaguar- don't put George W off on us southerners! He was born in Connecticut, no matter where he calls home now. I don't think he could have won the election with only the southern states behind him. Oh wait, he DIDN'T win the election- he was awarded the presidency by the US supreme court. Bastards! -Potential

Did you know I am a SATANIST?
by Tired of the Hypocrisy inseveral months ago, my wife's drunken, wife abusing, bully of a jw uncle offered (we didn't ask...he offered, ok?
) to allow us to use some space on his property to store some things we had in a 10x10x8 storage unit we were paying for.
it sounded good since we are short of cash most of the time and it would only be for about 3-4 months.

For folks that don't believe in hell they sure do see demons everywhere...and now the criteria for being a satanist is watching r rated movies?!!! WTF?! That still doesn't explain what kind of demonic possessions you supposedly own. Man, what a bunch of turds! -Potential
