this won't be a long-winded post; just a "quickie", and mostly meant for those still active:.

i find it odd that jehovah's witnesses don't find anything odd about how 'new light' is distributed.

i mean - if this new light comes from jehovah god himself, the creator of the universe and everything in it, wouldn't it be fair to say that it would happen more like in this story:.

Is the "stump" related to Babylon the Great?

is the "stump" or "banded rootstock" of dan chap 4 related to babylon the great of our day?.

i know generally how the wtbts of course turns all prophetic scriptures to benefit themselves.

we all know where that gets us.. has anyone done or heard any research on the matter?

I know generally how the WTBTS of course turns all prophetic scriptures to benefit themselves. We all know where that gets us.
Has anyone done or heard any research on the matter? If so place here or make comments and observations of your own.
My own thoughts of the matter is that if the rootstock of Babylon is banded, the glory of her is gone but not the influence since the rootstock remains. My theory is that her influence has in a lot of ways been "underground" but is more pronounced because she has gained power but not in obvious ways. Thus the mysterious part of the prophecy. I'm not making any conclusive arguments just fishing for perspectives.

...standing in a holy place.. i am sure this must have been discussed before but i can't find it in a search.

so if the disgusting thing is the un i think i can think of a time when it has stood in a place jw's consider "holy".

i never bought that the "holy place" was christendom when it has supposedly been denounced by god already.

There were many things but that was clear to me in the scriptures. When I learned that, I "BOUNCED". (slang for left)

The WT's description of Babylon the Great is what helped me "study" myself out of the truth. It is full of holes, incomplete, and subjective.

if you partake of the wine and you are not "approved" status..... are you supposed to be cursed?

would you be "reproved"?

would they ignore you or call a jc?.

Tula: I have actually heard this before but didn't know how to confirm it.
What a shame/sham this would be and to think of all the times I just looked at the plate and wine go past thinking Jesus didn't want me to dine at the table with him.

i turn into a big lump before bed.

Just so happens i'm up late right now but even if I go to sleep now, my body won't let me lay in past 8am.

Upcoming Elders Schooling

it's no secret that the "organization" has increased it's cia, national security clerance only super-secret attitude in regards to the elder school that is going to be conducted soon.

a few days ago, i had a conversation with an elder who has been in the fold all of his life practically.

in keeping with the conversation style of jws, the gentleman told me that nobody knows what exactly will be taught at the meetings, but in his backdoor conversations with some brothers who seem to be tuned into the bethel's officially, unofficial, communications network, the elders are going to be taught "post-armageddon" teachings.

I recognize that the WTBS has changed. They have gotten some weird relationship with the UN now that may have given them some inside information on the world scene. So they may know something about whats coming upon mankind not because scripture says but because of stronger relationship politically and economically with the "international powers that be". Them knowing "something" may give an excuse to spin toward themselves which is what they have done with all the prophecies of the bible.
Remember 1914. Just because this was the year of WWI doesn't give the WTBS an excuse to dump everything into it and make it a pivotal year for their doctrine.

There was one sister I knew of that partook of the emblems. I didn't think much of it personally.
Others in the congregation had ugly things to say about her in private conversations like "She doesn't do things the way an anointed should." or " She has never even auxillary pioneered" or "Her comments don't sound like an anointed."
I don't know if it was jealousy or just ignorance or both.
I know it pissed me off though.
Then again I new of two other sisters that were very well respected that partook. All you heard were glowing remarks.
It's weird.

OMG! I guess I was a bit naive to the idea of your cell phone listening in on you. This does explain how easy it is to get them now a days. 10 years ago it would not have been as simple to just go to walmart, pop open a box, turn it on, and call your friend about what your getting for the big game this weekend.
What we may see as a little convenience may actually be a way for the powers-that-be to gain a little more control and presence in our so-called private lives.
