  My point has always been, that ridiculers of Jehovah's judgments have always been steamrolled eventually.

  I feel a distinct presence of three dimensions. Nobody's flattened me. And before you say that I will be flattened someday in the future, your statement is in the past perfect tense.

  i've been up since 4am watching the match.

  germany wore us down with their crisp passing and hard play.

  I had Scaglione as DO in Tampa, Florida. Nice guy.

  I had Raftopolous as CO in Tampa; when he later retired from the travelling, he settled in Tampa. But while he was apparently talented (if heavy-handed) as a CO, he became a petty tyrant as an elder; he never considered himself "JUST ANOTHER ELDER". I know two elders personally, both of the relatively intelligent and principled kind, who ran afoul of Raftopolous and were elders no longer.

  Back on topic (almost): At North congregation in Tampa, several of the elders were way past old into decrepit. (I was one of three MS, btw; the other two were an invalid and a blind man, so I was busy!) One meeting, one of the really ELDER elders ad-libs that the pope's hat has written on it, among other things, the number 666!

  Really! The pope's hat! 666! I kid you not!

  A non-witness who was visiting audibly snorted and LEFT THE HALL at that moment.

  Ah, if only I'd followed him. *sigh*

  I Just Can't Do It!

  i was rather surprised to see this subject in the forum, and so it peeked my curiousity.. when i was floundering in the borg, i really slowed down to a snails pace as far as reading any of the wt literature.. when i decided to walk away, (at the time with guilt and self doubt), i got rid of all the literature.

  i had not renewed my wt subscribtion, and was not getting any other literature in the mail.

  so, there was nothing coming in.

  i was watching cnn yesterday when they were talking about the supreme court ruling.

  there was a "counsel" that was representing the jw's and he was explaining what the ruling meant for the borg and all citizens of this country.

  then he went on saying something that just blows my mind and has always bothered me when i used to be an active dub.

  I think that was "MEPS" -- it was big when I wanted to be a Bethelite [spit]. The MEPS hardware was finicky and soon died out, but the MEPS software was in use in the Peruvian branch when I visited there.

  The WT Society is evil overall, but it includes quite a few clever people, some of whom are respectable programmers.

  please bear with me , i have never known any thing other than what the jw have taught me all of my life.

  so all these ideas, theories come and go , and many times , they are just plain stupid.

  my mind goes way off into left field never to return , which is probably a blessing.

  Are you what a layman would call a "Yahweh"? I met one in field work one day and it was quite distracting to constantly have every reference to "Jesus" or "Jehovah" 'corrected' to "Yeshua" or "Yahweh". I remember it vividly, at least ten years later.
