I'm not sure I'd even want to attend a memorial if it would go that way. I might just hold a memorial service of my own.

a very dear friend has passed away (she happened to be the wife of our po).
I'm not sure I'd even want to attend a memorial if it would go that way. I might just hold a memorial service of my own.

wannahelp: Yeah, that fits. They want to have their world and end it, too!
the bible contradicts itself in the matter of god's omniscience.
the author of deuteronomy says that god has to perform a test to learn if one of his chosen people love him: .
why would an all-knowing god have to perform a test to learn something?
I consider that the doctrine of free will requires that God not exercise "prior restraint", so to speak. Even a person inclined to good may choose to do evil, and vice versa. So even an omnicient God would have to wait to see what we do before judging us for it.
If you really want to point out the ridiculousness of the Bible, you should highlight the places where free will is implicitly denied. For example, why are innocent children killed along with populations of (presumably responsible) adults in acts of divine judgement, not to mention Israel's many wars?

1)the old testament must have been written nearly two thousand years before the invention of printing.
there were but few copies, and these were in the keeping of those whose interest might have prompted interpolations, and whose ignorance might have led to mistakes.. 2) the written hebrew was composed entirely of consonants, without any points or marks standing for vowels, so that anything like accuracy was impossible, anyone can test this for himself by writing an english sentence, leaving out the vowels.
it will take far more inspiration to read than to write a book with consonants alone.. 3) the books composing the old testament were not divided into chapters or verses, and no system of punctuation was known.
Accuracy: Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary proof. I don't need reasons to disbelieve the Bible. I need reasons to believe it. And they just aren't there.
PS: If you haven't read Who Wrote The Bible? by Friedman, you owe it to yourself to do so.
so when you were a teenager and it was assembly time which convention did you go to, to go bird watching?.
there were always rumors of the magical convestion someware where all the girls were lookers and were eager to meet young brothers.. did you all go to the pub after , whats the biggest crowd you ever saw after the covention in a pub.. once there were over a hundred of us crowding the locals out.. got any stories
NYT: Of course we're antis. Active JWs can't have such rich and active social lives, or be honest about their sexual attractions.

From my experience, Miami has a very high babe ratio.

They want to give up on the reasons for urgency but keep the urgency. "No I won't pay you, but you have to work anyway!" Right.
i don't like the word apostate.......because it simply is not the case in so many cases.
i think the term 'truthseeker' would be better and quite annoying to jws who think they are!.
come on you truthseekers!.
We are FREE.

i was thinking, since the main problem seems to be that witnesses usually won't open up.
well, there seems to be no shortage of funny human behavior, so why couldn't this work?
of course, it isn't a matter of laughing at them.. perhaps point out some behavior that wouldn't be readily identified with witnesses (but does fit) and go from there...
If a believer is wrong, then they've lost quite a lot! Unless, of course, mental independence and freedom are of little value....
