Royalbatty,
I hope that you're not grouping all homosexuals into one group that is extreme. Just because someone is gay does not believe that they all believe in the same theology, if that's the right term. That's like saying Oprah likes cupcakes, therefore all black people like cupcakes!
For the record, I find those displays just as repugnant. As for gay bathhouses, if they're that noticeable, there should be laws to at least make them low key. You won't find bathhouses in my country that are advertised whatsoever. And yes, I find those places repugnant too, unless I want to catch something. I wouldn't want my nieces or nephews seeing that in my neighbourhood either.

Has the mass exodus begun?
by kool aid man06 init's truly exciting to see all of the "rapid fire" changes taking place in the watchtower org.
buildings are being sold, kingdomhalls are "compressing", bethelites are being sent home, watchtower format changing to public issues and private issues, more and more judicial committee meetings being held for apostasy.
(the watchtower is dead it just hasn't fallen over yet!

It's hard to believe the mass exodus has begun, but there it is. Check out this link from the Washington Post. My apologies if this has already been posted and is redundant.

Would You Really Want To Live Forever With Dubs?
by shamus100 inhere is the hypothetical question of the day - would you, or more appropriately, could you live forever in paradise on earth with jw's?
with the hypocrosy, silly elders, silly people... feeding lions and cleaning up after animals... everyone living by waterfalls, like the jw's always portray in they're psychotic pamphlets..... or would you rather be dead.
i, personally, would much rather be dead.

You didn't answer the question.
Would you really want to live forever with dubs? Why are you peddling your religion in my thread?

one year today
by Hortensia ina year ago today my husband was arrested after he tried to kill his own friend and a police officer, with a knife.
they shot him, and he has been in jail, having various kinds of hearings, awaiting trial since then.
every day as i go about my life i think about his choices - if he had thought longer before he took that first dose of meth, he might still have his comfortable life, freedom to go fishing when he wants, nice work, friends, so on.

I can't imagine what you're going through now. Hope that you're okay.

Yes,
This is a touchy subject. Someone once told me not to discuss politics or religion with people. It seems okay on the internet, but it still can lead to hard feelings. It's all a matter of opinion - personal opinion. I don't hate people if they are religious. I have some religious friends, but they're pretty balanced.

Living as a former JW
by yknot inwhile i personally have not yet made this jump (final meetings will be first week of june).
i hear many wishing me "happy easter" i wonder how many of you have adjusted?.
i don't think i can unlearn that most holidays are "pagan", after all even the history channel confirms this fact.

Freedom lies beyond.
It's a learning process. You will find it takes years and years to unlearn the dub nonsense. Easter means nothing to me, really. Other than Jesus and chocolate, LOL.
I was trying to be a buddist for a while, but that just didn't work out. I did my research, and came up with my own opinions about religion and what was right. You'll find your own path.
