Are you as sick of all the Whiners, naggers, complainers and cry babies??????
by StoneWall infor goodness sakes people get over it already!.
i can't even read over a thread hardly now without someone almost hi-jacking it with saying something like oh i hope simon changes his mind about shutting down this board or saying well he shouldn't be on a power trip and just sell it or give it to someone to continue on.
he has answered each of these numerous times and each time said no.

restroom in your house and look intently in the biggest mirror and slap yourself.
No seriously I mean this, slap yourself as hard as you can thru the face. This is whats known as outside stimulus (stimulation).
It will be a shock to your senses and help bring you back to reality. It will help you see that this isn't the end of the world and the sun will continue to rise long after the closing of this board. Once you're past this point you will feel so much better and then see how much more you have to offer others than focusing on all this negativety.LOL!

My theory about the behavior and obsession of some ex-JWs
by Simon ini've had this theory for some time and alluded to it occassionally but have never explored it in detail.. it is of course a huge generalisation so no, not everyone will fit into the boxes and i'd like people's opinion.
i don't know everyone's circumstances so it's based on a small sample of some of those i do know something about.
it could be completely wrong, it's just an idea.. basically, i have seen a difference between some of those ex-jws who walked out vs those who were kicked out.. the most bitter and obsessive seem to be the kicked out and, i must add, those who were legitimately kicked out.

Interesting posts - I agree that there is a huge generalization there, and there are definetly no hard and fast rules.
I think a more interesting point to consider is why people get so pissed off, get banned from a stupid message board, then join other message boards to whine and bitch about things on the previous message board. I cannot imagine wasting my time, life, happiness on something so petty! It screams out that people need help. Obviously, they have no life, no friends, no nothing. Sad, really, and I don't mean that in a vindictive way. I'm sure the old timers here have seen a lot, because I know that I sure have! Screaming matches over politics, gay messiahs, among other complete nonsense.
If anyone can understand these people, I would welcome comments.
Oh, and about being a perfect ignorant asshole, we've all been there at some point. Check out my post on addiction and our trapled rights if you want to see me as an ignorant asshole.

I'm seeing ray in about 1.5 weeks! Looking forward to it... and you wouldn't believe where I'll be hiking from and driving to to do it.
Ray is one of my most favorite posters, and one hell of a nice person to boot. Not bad for someone with that dreaded homosexual gene.... maybe Simon can tell him to his face what a homophobe he really is... LOL.

I know that a lot of people here will not agree but........
by Wordly Andre inok, not to change anyones religious beliefs or anything but just because in my weird head!
i think it would be funny to protest at the assembly, with a bunch of people wearing funny halloween costumes of all sorts.
i know that a lot of people here are against that sort of thing, but i want to do it just because it will funny.

Do You Clearly Understand That "The Truth" Is Nothing But Bullcrap?
by minimus inwhat a waste of living being "in the truth" was!
sometimes i see persons suggesting that the witness religion isn't all so wrong.
actually they suggest that they themselves are the issue.

I see persons suggesting that the Witness religion isn't all so wrong
They are still in the early stages, Minimus. They will figure it out sooner or later. I used to fear the end of the world for some time after becoming a dub...
BTW, it is 110% wrong.

Do you take Responsibility
by kerj2leev inusually the one that doesnt want to be friends anymore wont recognize his/her part in the failure.. in jg wifes thread about being friends with your ex the above comment was made.
in failed relationships it's usually both parties that share the blame.. in the past three years since my divorce i have come to except my part in the break-up of our marriage.
i have identified areas that i need to work on to be in a healthy relationship.

Taking responsiblity means not only understanding you faults, but also your motivations for your actions percieved at the time. Remember, hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20. You need to accept that you are not perfect, will never be perfect, but based on the information that you percieved to be true at the time, you made your best decision. Accept failure, learn from it, look at failure in a positive light, and you will be a much better and stronger person for it. I try to take full responsiblity for my actions.
I agree that most times, although it appears there is only one person at fault in a relationship, often there is shared blame. There are relationships that there is 100% blame, of course. I'm not here to judge anyone, or have someone tell us all the gory details. I find that most times, it's highly imappropriate to broadcast these details all over the net, unless it has some specific healing due to abuse issues, etc. Please don't feel any poster here has to justify themselves to others - they only need to justify things to themselves.
