Apostate: From 279 Facebook friends to 81 overnight... thanks MOM!
by sosoconfused inthe drama continues, i log on to facebook this morning and notice that i have about 20 some odd personal messages from people calling me an apostate to they will return to me when i return to jehovah.. all of this based upon my brother informing others that i have "apostate thoughts".
my mother also encourage long-time famil friends to "unfriend" me because i have taken my stand on the side of satan... wow.
don't you just love this international brotherhood.

We're with you, too, soso. It's a long journey and it hurts when people who are *required* to love you turn their backs on you. Long story but I've put my mother out of my life completely. Sometimes, to live a life of integrity, you have to be willing to lose those who love you conditionally.

Accused of thinking too much
by biometrics ini've been officially accused of "thinking too much".. i've tried to quit thinking, but i'm hoplessly addicted to it.i just can't seem to turn my brain off.. at times duing my school years i was accused of not thinking enough.
now i'm guilty of thinking too much!.
the brother even went on to say "could you imagine what the witness organisation if everyone was thinking independently like you do"?

Did my bit for our cause today!
by Julia Orwell inwe went to a second hand book fair with literally 100 000+ books and i found some bible teach books in the religion section.
of course very few people go to the religion section, but anyway i got out my pen and wrote jwfacts.com on the title pages.
it's small, but it could just save someone..

Whatever happened to the sticker thread, where someone actually made stickers with SilentLambs.org, JWFacts.org, etc. on them to stick on literature at the laundromat?

Too sick or injured but still made it to the meeting!
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini once attended a two day special assembly with my gums bleeding after having 4 widom teeth pulled the day before.
i managed the two days by rinsing out my mouth all day long and placing cotton in my mouth.. one brother had back surgery the week before but attended a two day assembly by laying on a matress in the back of the assembly hall.
why he needed to be there i'll never understand!.

My mother had major surgery and went to meetings against doctor's advice. She took along a chaise lounge chair and laid in it in the back of the K-hole. Nothing can keep her away from the meetings.

Ridiculous Hospital Experience Regarding My Non-JW Brother
by MrFreeze inso a couple weeks ago my brother went into the hospital.
the only time anybody could have told them he was jw was on the ambulance.
i asked her about how he got switched to being a jehovah's witness.

Your brother needs a health care power of attorney. Would keep your mother from making any decisions for him. The hospital could get info from his wife over the telephone.

Dearie, once you get over being overwhelmed, you need to research how the Bible was written. The first 10-11 chapters of Genesis (11?) aren't meant to be taken literally. They are written in the form of myth. So not only is the story of Noah's Ark not literal, neither is the story of Adam and Eve. Thus, if the story of Adam and Eve merely represented early man, Satan was Satan a long, long time ago. Honestly, if there were an actual garden of Eden in which God walked around, don't you think there would be evidence of it?
Don't mean to distract from your thread. I remember being shocked when I read CoC. Especially the Malawi debacle. I remember writing letters to the leaders of Malawi asking the persecution of JWs be stopped! I also remember an older woman who suddenly became one of the anointed. She said she was a replacement for the ones at Bethel who went "apostate." I'd bet there was one of those in every congregation.
Your post has brought up so many memories for me. Your response is completely natural and normal. Don't let yourself get too stressed, if possible.

I think it would be helpful if this letter had the endorsement of Silent Lambs or came from local members of Silent Lambs, since the apostate talk says that "apostates" lie to authorities. Or else just mention that those who expose sexual abuse within the org are labeled apostate and disfellowshipped, using a real example and linking to Silent Lambs.
