i wanted to put this thread out for any newbies and lukers to see how things are going in your life !

please know that those of us who have exited the jw religion care about you - so if you need to vent about what you have been experiencing - this thread is a good place to do it !

many here, including myself have been through what you are going through - so please post your thoughts here - and we will try to assist you !

I'm a Newbie,I only discovered this site a short while ago,I have looked at others and joined a couple of the new ones in case JWD goes.

I hope JWD stays up and running,it has a vibrancy and immediacy that other sites lack,plus the best in "wicked" humour.For me it has helped me keep just the right side of insane,and helped me no end with being able to express my feelings and beliefs to those still in who ask the "Are you O.K?" sort of question(as though you must be ill because you don't go to meetings).

Keep up the good work Y'all.I will continue to check whats going down on here for as long as it keeps running.

ok, so in the gilbert simental molestation case, the elders hid behind clergy client privilege.

but why didn't they want to speak out against a molester?

why did they not happily say,"yes, ole brother gilbert told us what he did"?

Thank you all for your posts, I am crying as I write this for the poor victims. What a satanic organisation that cares more for it's own FALSE reputation than for these poor people who have had so much stolen from them.

Here in the U.K Priest-Penitent confidentiality has not been legal since the reformation,is it in fact recognized under U.S law?

The sad thing is that Elders here do not know how to handle these matters in a morally acceptable way,the minimum should be contact the Police and other authorities FIRST then if you must the bet-hell legal desk. Any other way of doing it is an insult to the victim and shows no love

Meeting attendance figures are not published,though they were dropping in the last few years,esp. when looked at as % of so-called active Dubs.

September 2008 "Our Kingdom Ministry" shows a total for May 2008 of 128,243

I don't have previous figures to hand to compare,but it seems to me to be a nominal increase. As has been shown on this site,this increase is mainly from "born ins" and alowing for say a 2% loss through death and people moving abroad etc. this means a lot are leaving.If I can find figures for baptism etc. for previous years I will post them later. Bethel must be aware of the huge hole in the bottom of the bucket,but every seeming increase is haled as Jehovah's blessing.

The Elders handbook (available as PDF search this site for link) under Apostasy defines it as not accepting what Jehovah's Witnesses teach at present.So all on here,and other similar sites, should be DF'd by that standard.

What a load of S**T when you consider how short the present is before they change a doctrine!

Ah you see time is different in Heaven, so just sitting down on the throne may take a long time,then he has to get slightly off again to make a "trumpet blast" and then there is miraculously an Assembly at Cedar Point Ohio.Ye of little faith,don't you realise that any awkward question can be fended off with"Tower Logic".

i think the school works differently now, but when i was a kid, a #2 talk was 5 minutes and i would give it in about 3 minutes...why did the meeting still end at 9:15!

ps.........do you remember when those tms meeting were 2 hours??????

In our congo we had that same guy you all had who would use up the spare time so once one MS altered the clock so he finished early.Afterwards Bro "I love my voice" went apeshit but never did find out who fiddled with the clock. Ha Ha Ha !

since they came out with the study edition of the watchtower magazine in january, i have noticed a trend.

some of you have probably noticed this as well if you have been attending any of the meetings.. with the exception of changing their base doctrine about "this generation" and 1914, the articles don't discuss or reveal or even reiterate doctrine anymore.

It could well be that sites like these have ripped all their non-scriptural doctrines to shreads,so if they dont draw attention to them the R&F wont think about them too much. Well done all on JWD!

Or could it be that the new Prophet at Brooklyn is Austin Powers "Oh do BEHAVE!"

607 is like an ill fitting carpet

i was doing a little more research on the 607 issue.

it struck me that what the wt has done is a bit like walking into a room with a perfectly fitting carpet, cutting it in half and adding a strip in the middle.

now the carpet doesn't fit and you are left with the choice of having it running up the walls or full of wrinkles.

Of course as has been noted many times,even if 607 were correct(which it aint) Daniel contains nothing to extrapolate 2,520 days or years from,nor does any other Scripture so 1914 is a dud,its dead, it is an ex-parrot(prophecy).gone to meet its maker (a strange man)

did you ignorantly accept whatever "mother" said, just because "mother" said so?

True Minimus but there is a great difference between being duped and facts witheld from you and being willfully ignorant,the big problem is getting dubs who you love to open their hearts and minds, I am even having a problem doing that with my wife who I call a Homer Witness,from the episode where he say's to the preacher"when you were up there going Yadda Yadda Yadda I didn't listen!" She sure didn't listen at the KH.

Even so enough "ignorant speach" has gone in so she wont listen to much of what I have found out.

I guess we are all ignorant if we don't listen to and evaluate every idea.
