unfortunately, in my experience not.
even most of the elders i have met have a poor knowledge of what the society teaches.
some basic questions will still get "mature" ones scratching their heads.. .
And don't forget the big one:
"How is it possible to arrive at 607 B.C.E. for the date of the destruction of the Temple at Jerusalem?".
It is upon this question that all other doctrines rest and I have never found a JW who could explain to me (or himself) how the Society arrives at this date and the rest of mankind arrive at 587 B.C.E.
Even "Scholar" has never been able to do this properly.

i've noticed that they are two seperate beings entirely.
i just think about the ot circumstances, when wandering through the wilderness god guided moses and the tribe with a huge smoke cloud during the day and a pillar of fire during the night.
to prove that joshua (i believe) was to lead the people god made dew appear on a rag in the morning and no where else, then when joshua questioned again he made the opposite occur.

Perhaps I misunderstood your question?
What I was getting at is the JW belief that some people on earth today are anointed with Gods Holy Spirit. ("to chose by Divine intervention", from your definitions)
It would seem that this anointing, like that of first century Christians, was/is a miracle.
Of course, if you don't agree that this anointing can be classed as a miracle then there is no question to answer.

Good question. IMO, it's because those miracles were done away with shortly after Jesus' ransom sacrifice.
Can you tell me if anointing was one of the miracles that was done away with at the same time?
This is a genuine question and I would appreciate your thoughts.

i had a very interesting phone call today.
a sister (fader) called me, and told me how she and her husband (ex elder) have been thinking about me, and talking late into the night about what they could do for me.
they knew i was disfellowshipped now, and remembered the kindnesses i extended to them for many years while i was an elder.
happy man, you are making some good points in your post. I often think about the Statute of Limitations that they have on offences in America and how unjust this can be at times. You can commit a serious crime, disappear, then return home and never be prosecuted for the crime.
It seems all wrong to me but then as you rightly point out, who decides on punishment 30 or 40 years later?

check out the official jw-media site and find their 'official' response to the accusations of child abuse within its organisation.. they simply feature this quote:.
"people didn't have the body of knowledge 18 or 20 years ago to say that this is something that will harm your child emotionally, if you don't address it.
parents didn't know the seriousness ... and the long-term effects.".

I envisage the day when almost all Jehovah's Witnesses will be conversant with apostate tactics and will be able effectively to counter many of the arguments made. I already know many such personally and through the Internet.
This says far more for the apostates than it does for the Witnesses. You only have to organise a defence against an effective attack. None of this would be necessary unless the apostates were having a serious influence in demonstrating the real truth about "the truth".
You could refer to this as "theocratic warefare", but it smacks more of Nazi type fanatical extremism.

SJW knows exactly where he is and what he is doing and saying. He registered on 20 Feb but only posted on 23 rd so took plenty of time to look around and get to know the ropes.
Like you, I can’t quite figure what he is up to yet nor how he removes his posting info. No doubt we will eventually find out.

as many of you now know, i was in the mental ward for a breif period.
after i got out of the mental ward, i was placed in group therapy where i am today.
i talked with my therapist today and he mentioned a very interesting fact.
I once asked a Presiding Overseer why he thought that there were so many people in the congregation with emotional problems. He said it was because the members of the congregation are trained to go out looking for people with emotional problems. This leads to more people with emotional problems going out and recruiting even more people with emotional problems.
It sort of made sense to me.

however the bible says that the mediator is .
"the man" christ jesus.

You well know that Jesus is not the mediator between God and man, only between God and the 144,000, therefore whether he is a man or an angel does not really matter to us men as regards being a mediator does it?
