  An Average Apostate Day

  i cannot understand why dubs are so terrified of apostates.

  we all live mostly modest and normal lives, but dubs don't believe that.

  i realize that i was stuck believing in jw almost all my life.

  and that each person has to see the light for themselves.. but it was partly the hypocrisy, partly the internet, partly my brother, ex-jw, and partly thinking on my own that did it.. there are smart enough people on the board, is there anything we can do to bring the whole jw thing down?.

  there must me some way, some thing, we can do.

  In most cases, you can't reason a dub out of the tower. Even if they agreed that the coverups happened, the teachnigs were false, etc, most stil have a motive for staying. Therefore, it has nothing to do with how "smart" we are.

  Interpret this dream?

  not that i subscribe to that sort of thing - but this one was very wierd.. i was in a glass house - or at least there was mostly glass all around.

  there was a vehicle pulled up close to one of the doors, and a woman was yelling that she needed to come inside because the buffalo were chasing her.

  i looked down the hill and saw two thin buffalo, and when they saw me they charged up to the entrance of the house, preventing me from opening the door to the woman.

  WT backtracking fast on Book Study -High Gas Prices

  so tonight the congregation discussed the front page of the october km -the new meeting schedule.

  straight away it was emphasized it was not because of high gas prices that the meetings were being reduced.

  it was pointed out that in parts of the world the brothers do not have cars so it was not high gas prices.

  Wasn't there a letter scanned on this site of that letter? I thought it said something about due to "gas prices." The WT organization does make flat out statements and then deny it blaming it on the rank & file quite frequently - (remember '75).

  Yes. I scanned the letter and posted it here sometime back in May. Unfortunately I hosted it on tinypic and no longer have the link. I'm sure I still have the files on my laptop, but unfortunately that computer is on the fritz now, so unless you can go back and find the scan in JWD archives, you're probably out of luck.

  And yeah, the letter did explicitly mention "rising cost of fuel" as a factor in the decision.

  Extent of Judicial Comms power ?

  my question is,because i have always thought that the extent of their power was in a geographic sense, their "parish" or territory, i imagined that if i moved congo.

  "officially ",i.e said i am going to such and such a hall, and then never showed up,would either congo.

  have any power over me,even if i had not moved home from the original congo's territory ?.

  Outlaw: Now why would a fine carpenter be working in a sushi restaurant? As for Joe Hobo, I heard the GB told him they would allow him to use his limitless cosmic powers to keep the toilets clean at Beth-Hell, but only on the condition that he doesn't "act out" and stops trying to set fire to all the pork rinds in the convenience store across the street. Pigs are an abomination!

  Sacolton: Keep us posted on that. I know of no such article. It may have included some extremely vague wording intended to keep the heat off their ass.

  Outlaw has a lot more common sense than you'd think.

  Nostferatu: On your last day you should rent a zamboni. Cruise around just picking up snow and ice from the surface of frozen ponds (must be plenty in Manisnowba at this time of year!) Then drive it to work and dump the enormous chunk of hardened, packed snow/ice right behind your old boss' car so that he can't get out of the parking lot. Leave a friendly notice like "I noticed this here when I left, but I didn't feel like working overtime to shovel snow again! Sorry!"
