  -Are "apostates" more strict on WBTS doctrine than active Witnesses?

  or: "common responses to criticism, by active jehovah's witnesses", which i could also have called this topic.. .

  -a video i just saw on youtube made by an active witness took me down memory lane a bit, and reminded me of how i used to think and respond to some common criticisms of the jws.

  as i started writing this post, i had planned to put this person's thoughts point-by-point, but it turned out he was pretty much only covering one common critisism.

  It sounds like my wife(16 yr JW) as we've begun to have dialog about her spirituality...Some decisions she's made are not based on the FDS, but actually thought out by her. I find that comforting, because it shows she a free thinker, even if she still believes that god's org does exist, she say that she doesn't believe they are always right. Is this the begining of those who'll continue the beliefs of JW's in the future, but distance themselves from the FDS/WTS? Who knows...

  Newbies - How are you Benefiting from the Supportive Discussion on JWD ?

  so - i thought i'd put this question out there for the newbies here.

  how are you benefiting from the supportive discussion you are partaking in here on jwd ?

  do you see a different sense of freedom of speech which you can partake in - as opposed to being under " information control " as a jehovah's witness and only being allowed to talk about subjects that are previously arranged for you to discuss ?

  As a UBM trying to save his marriage, I too have benetited from sharing here...I'd have filed for divorce if not for being able to lurk and find that my wife is one of the misled. While I haven't been able to open her eyes in the last few months, I've certainly learned that with patience and understanding I can now discuss things with her that were before closed subjects. Also the diverse experiences I found among JWDers has been valuable in learning what she is going through, compared to how the borg has really ransacked other lives. I'll still work slowly to help her see that being a JW is possible without the borg -- from there, who knows?

  7. Pray at the Catholic church....get blessed by a Bhudist Monk. (Try a progressive Baptist church- you coul then "Jam for Jesus")

  10.Feed someone actual food at anytime? (maybe someone in need you run across?)

  Serena is full of shit! I personally saw her drunk out of her mind, puking in a planter at a Derby after-party in Louisville 2 years ago!   Captives of a Concept- Don Cameron...it illustrates that most of the R&F are not at fault, they simply "bought in" to the idea of the FDS. A quick read (151 pages) it also blows away Matt 24: 45-47 and Proverbs 4:18 (new lite). get the PDF, I think its about 8 bucks...

  it always made me not understand... why is the daily text, FROM the bible ONE sentence, then what they want you to constru out of it 3 paragraphs? why cant we JUST READ THE BIBLE!!! OH! stop me! i'm sounding apostate!!! It's cakked eisegesis... http://www.creationists.org/eisegesis.html Eisegesis is the approach to Bible interpretation where the interpreter(GB) tries to "force" the Bible to mean something that fits their existing belief or understanding of a particular issue or doctrine. People(GB) who interpret the Bible this way are usually not willing to let the Bible speak for itself and let the chips fall where they may. They(GB) start off with the up-front goal of trying to prove a point they already believe in, and everything they read and interpret is filtered through that paradigm. Stated another way, they engage in what the Bible refers to as "private interpretation". WTBS - The world's most prolific publisher of eisegesis material. May they reap the penalties of Revelation 18-19!! (I wonder how they interpret those verses)

  this is what my spouse said after i mentioned issues i have seen on here...the bs being combined, the bethelites being reassigned, the possible termination of co's, etc... she said if that i didn't want anything to do with religion that i shouldn't even be on this site looking into issues such as these.

  it has made me to wonder if she isn't right.

  am i just trying to reason with myself or am i seeking to avenge myself against the wbts?
