The Elder's wife didn't get the memo...

so i drive to the kh @ 10:30 to pick up the kids (i allow them to attend the pubic talk, but not be poisoned by the koolaid wt study).

as i'm in the parking lot, i see elderx, with whom i've had spirited wt debates heading to his car - he doesn't speak as he now knows i fully oppose the wt.

well from the car his wife sees me, and in her excitement gets out to come over to say hello.

As I'm in the parking lot, I see ElderX, with whom I've had spirited WT debates heading to his car - he doesn't speak as he now knows I fully oppose the WT. Well from the car his wife sees me, and in her excitement gets out to come over to say hello. She greets me with a hug, and says she misses me and naturally invites me to "try, just try" to come back on Sundays. I nicely tell her, "I've honestly tried, but can't do this anymore". She then invites me to at least give her a call sometime to talk...As she returns to the car ElderX finally "waves" reluctanly and they head on thier way.

Do you think she heard it from her Elder husband? Since making it known I'm a full opposer, having my wife remove WT materials from the house & making it a no JW zone(particularly elders with thier sheparding attempts), not one elder has really said more than a half-hearted "Hi". ElderX and I had even found a little common ground before I went full opposer. His wife is nice enough, and though she's dealt with depression from time to time, I'm sure she means well(well meaning seeing me back in the KH as a UBM trying to stand by my wife-like that will ever happen!). Should I call her? We all know that when she brings up the WTS, she'll only hear from me how the Troof is just a trademark.

back in the 50's the society used to criticize the churches for their stained glass windows.

now they proudly point to their assembly hall in jersey hall with their chandeliers and stained glass windows.

i know there are a number of kingdom halls with stained glass too.. i think few congregations owned their kingdom halls in the 50's.

we also celebrate our top employees with an award, the year i won was emotinal for me, but i had no one to share it with, which really sucked!

i only asked to see if she'd make the effort...by the way last nited she was watching the xmas episode of a sitcoms, isn't that against the wt rules?

i mean if jw's can watch &/or purchase xmas movies, toys and other stuff during the holiday season, then isn't that celebrating?

we went out & bought a an x-box 360(the $400 one!

I mean if jw's can watch &/or purchase Xmas movies, toys and other stuff during the holiday season, then isn't that celebrating? We went out & bought a an X-Box 360(the $400 one!) along with other toys & shit for the kids & I'm like, "shouldn't the FDS be on a campaign? maybe a talk titled -- "Watch over the flock & their untimely spending in the ides of December"? I wonder, does this happens in many jw families, or is it just me? Smacks of hypocracy...I must still be bitter about missing the last 14 Xmases -- I wish I could say "Merry X-ma - I mean Merry Christmas" again...

I'm still afraid of Demons and "things that go bumps in the night" why?

i think there is no god or satan or ghosts or ufo's....but....my sub-consciuos mind is so messed up by witnesses if i hear a bump in the night i need to investigate....in the back of my mind i fear demons more then a burgular!

it so weird, it was drummed into me all my life, it still freaks me even though logically i know it's not at all real.

i have a bad dream and jump up to check the house....how's that for a 37 year old 6 foot 4 man?

Oh yeah, if you scream Jehovah, they'll leave you alone. The demons hear his name and shudder, remember?

My wife will do this when she gets a little freaked out...I just thought it was about the common tendency we have to call on God when in crisis. But after reading this I realize she is a little heavy handed with her use of "Jehovah" and has a slight pre-occupation with "demons". Do they really still teach this today, or is it an old teaching from 10 or more years ago?

I finally said it...It's time for us to get divorce

i asked my wife over the weekend for a divorce...1st let me say that this sight gives support for those affected by the borg - ex-jw's, ubm's etc...but it also consumes some of us.

of this i am guilty.

i have developed such a disdain for the wtbs that i can no longer have a conversation with my wife without attacking her religion.

So yesterday I recieve this text from my wife after she did some "research" on WT article claims of being "God's Org" & "the mother"...

"I looked u those dates and agree with them and there's 3 important requirements for salvation revealed in the bible. 1) John 13:35. 2) John 17:26. 3) John 18:36. The mother has to do with the groom & bride once the bride gave birth"

OK, so what am I to interpret from this? By saying she agrees with them, does she mean the society? What does the use of those scriptures mean? 1) is the last verse from the new commandment -- 2) is the last verse from Jesus' prayer for all and 3) one of the verses from Pilate's court.-- none of which seem to point to our salvation. Do these verses justify the WTBS placing themselves as God's sole channel or as JW's "Mother"? Is my calling it blasphemy over the top?

I didn't want to respond to her yet, because I don't want to argue or attack. So what's your opinion?

new flash i did not like quantum of solice 2008.....first ever bond movie that did not work for me, trying to make it a part two of casino royale?

bond has turned into "the bourne ulitimatum....or mission impossible 3.. my favourite bond as a kid and today is roger moore....i thought he brought some humor to the role i saw octopussy 12 times....also pierce brosnan was born to be bond with his coolness..

Connery was 1st born-2-play Bond, then Brosnan after that I'd have to rank them as follows;

Moore, for an attempt at the tradition - but he never did his own stunts, therefore he ranks as the wimpiest Bond.

Craig, Though the Bourne ultimatium reference makes me deduct poiints, but you gotta love the intensity!

Dalton, speaking of intensity, he seemed to display too much rage, no cool factor!
