Ireland Criminalizes Blasphemy - how will this affect the WTS?
by HalfWayThere inhttp://www.spiked-online.com/index.php/site/article/7171.
from tfa:.
"aside from a 25,000 fine (reduced from the 100,000 originally sought by the government), the new defamation act gives the authorities the power to stage raids on publishers: the courts may now issue a warrant authorising the police to enter, using reasonable force, premises where they have grounds for believing there are copies of blasphemous statements.".

The irony of a message from my Mother regarding Christmas
by HalfWayThere inknowing that its almost december, and that i will be putting up a tree, my mum told me today that she doesn't want to be invited over to my place while any decorations are up.
she later sent me the following sms: (edited for grammer & spelling).
"i wanted to say that, as you know all the rubbish about santa claus, when you have kids will you allow them to be deceived with this lie?

If I went back would I get DF'd because I married an non-JW?
by HalfWayThere ini'm getting married in a couple of weeks and my mother is under alot of pressure not to go because i've been living with my fiance.
my 3 jw sisters are not attending the wedding and i feel that my mum will be under continued pressure not to have contact with me after the wedding.
so i'm thinking of a plan... what if i went back to the meetings just so that my mum can feel 'ok' about having contact with me and so she can tell my sisters to back off.

Interesting show on Australian TV last night about religion
by HalfWayThere ini haven't posted on here in ages, though i read the board quite often, but i thought the following was worth meantioning..... .
there was a show on sbs last night called "insight".
i didn't catch all of it, but it was about churches such as hillsong (www.hillsong.com) that, in their teachings, encourage their members to acquire wealth and financial success.

hi...
by HalfWayThere ini was looking at jw sites on the net and i found this site, its pretty cool i must admit and you all seem to be so positive about life after "the truth".
but its also comforting to hear how scared some of you were when you first left.. at the moment i'm contemplating leaving the organization.
i haven't been attending the meetings much lately, nor done any witnessing, and to be honest i don't miss it.
