Witness intelligence vs. stupidity

i was going to post on that thread but, alas, i have gotten too verbose and have decided to start a new thread.

Even intelligent people can be brainwashed.Example.
My stepfather is one of the most intelligent people Ive known.When my mom was recruited he studied because she told him to.She made it clear that this was the way,her kids would be raised witnesses and no one was gonna change that.Hes a mellow guy and he loved his kids and went along with it.However,he would sneak cigs at work.He opened a PO box so he could continue writing scenarios for Dungeons and Dragons.When he got busted,2 years after baptism,mommydearest made it clear shed leave him if he kept posing a spiritual threat.He had to meet with the elders and play along.After a couple years he was assimilated.When Ive spoken to him about it he says his lack of faith was the problem.
The problem was that he was whipped and gave up thinking for himself.Hes an elder now.;

Had a visit last Saturday from an elder....
by gymbob inhe said he was just checking addresses because my house was on the "do not call" list, and he was checking to see if the same people lived here or had moved away.
so i told him that nobody that lives in this house has asked jw's not to call, and that it was probably at the request of my ex-wife who knows i don't attend anymore.. so he gives me that ookaaayy look..... i'm out working in the yard and so we sit down in the garage to have a chat..... he doesn't know me, but i remember him from a different cong., and he doesn't know i da'd myself over 5 years ago.
he also doesn't know how much i've learned and how long i've been waiting for this day!.

Why don't they encourage education?
by reficul ini was born into the religion and 3 years ago on april 1st decided to move out i haven't gone since.
i moved out live on my own decided to go to college.
i remember the meetings it was never encouraged to go to college why i ask.

by mahler inin the hall i used to attend i found alot of people had 'demon' stories, did you know anyone like this or have any run-ins yourself?
i personally think they were zealot delusions.
nevermind i just did a search a found a whole bunch of stories.

Wow,there have been some really freaky experiences!
My mom would scour our home for "demonised" things whenever things werent going well,including financial trouble.The room that was her fave-mine.I was often told my lack of faith and "attitude" were the result of demonic influence.She got real pissed when I suggested that she may suffer from a form of schizophrenia.

Why I don't want to associate with pioneers
by JimmyPage insometimes i get flak for not having more "spiritual" associates.
the reason i don't really care for pioneers is that whatever interests or hobbies they have get replaced by the whole pioneering thing.
they become less like normal people and become more a clone of what a good dub "should" be.
