That is a sad story indeed,but I learned after a lot of heartbreak that people become cold and calloused when they become Witnesses.If your wife's family had been any other religion I strongly doubt they would have treated you and your wife like that.Soooo far off from the way Jesus taught!
serena williams, after winning the us open women's tennis championship tonight, thanked "jehovah" for blessing her family.
in the background were numerous us flags, and of course, prior to the match, the williams sisters were there and standing while various patriotic songs were played (oh, that's right....they were already standing since they had to walk out onto the court....guess that's okay).
while watching all that i could not help but think of all the jw youths who have been told that they could not particicpate in organized sports at school or otherwise.
Maybe if other youths were making some nice $$$ to donate to the Society,they could participate too.

i have to admit that it was just about the very first thing that i did when i finally received that sumbeam of enlightenment that jw's were simply not anything special.
i drove out to a country pub, bought 2 panatellas and a half of red barrel, and spluttered my way through my first cigar n' pint.
I smoked for seventeen years and gave it up to be a witness.Now I have given up both and don't intend to ever go back to either one.

Yes,in my experience,being a JW does give you the right to be just plain rude.They do make their own rules and they hardly ever do the christian thing.My whole family was treated shitty by the JWs when my Dad died and none of us was even Df'd or Da'd.My brother's Baptist church really showed them up bad at that time.Sorry A-HOLES didn't even bother to stop by the funeral home to pay respects.HOW CHRISTIAN IS THAT?Thanks to them,my whole family has drifted.I'm so sorry about what happened to your Dad.I can certainly understand that they contributed to his depression.As far as your family goes,as long as any of them are still in it,be prepared to be hurt by them.Sad but true.

not wanting to disappoint him, she put us both down for two hours.. now, none of us have stepped foot in a kingdom hall since april 10, and we haven't been out in service since march/01.

" i tried very hard to get people to come to meetings and assemblies...and during it all i was bored out of my mind and had a voice in my heart keep saying "what if what you think is the 'truth' is not really the "truth" and you stand before the throne to be judged?
would these people take your place and die for you because you believed in them and not jah?
I use to get frustrated because I had not brought anybody in.Now I'm glad I didn't.
