actually, i started on the old h2o, and i came over here with many on the board a long time back.. do any of you remember what problem i had??.

DID you pass "up' er by the contribution box
by imanaliento inthis may have been posted b/4, but you are all forgiving, right?.
while we were studying, we were told there was not a collection plate passed around, just a contribution box.
as the years went by it seemed like every other thur.

Passive Resistence ... 10 Step Program
by Amazing inlegalism: over the last few years ex-jws have discussed much about how to deal with the jws legally, to stop slander, harassment, etc.
... and then somehow try to avoid being da'd or df'd.
this can work, but it take some preplanning and careful strategy to implement ... and in the end, the ex-jw often still gets shunned.

I've been out for over seven months and haven't seen hide nor hair of the elders.For those who are being pursued though,your suggestions sound like good advice.

by minimus inelders are supposed to be loving, caring shepherds.
when a problem arises, elders are supposed to be there.
visiting in homes was something the organization always stressed.

To answer your second question,NO,I do not want a shepherding call.I'm glad those s.o.b.'s aren't doing their job! I wouldn't even talk to them if they did stop by.I want them out of my life forever!!!

I have been inactive since this past January and have yet to receive a shepherding call.Only a couple of pioneer sisters have been by a few times.The elders haven't even bothered to try and find out why I stopped attending meetings.The "stars" are really on their toes,huh?

by Princess inmulan and i are off to the "happiest place on earth", disneyland.
we are leaving early monday and will be back late friday.
oh yeah, we're taking the kids too.. be nice now.

DO YOU LIKE J W D BETTER THAN BEFORE?

many that complained have either left or post limitedly.

I don't know what was going on before I arrived but since I've been here I've found this board to be a very warm and friendly place.It has helped me tremendously to post my feelings about what being a JW did to me and to have others with similar experiences answer.I hope this board stays this way because so many people are hurting and need to express their feelings and be heard.I had enough of the back-biting,back-stabbing,gossiping,clique thing when I was in the Borg,that's the last thing anyone needs when they find this site.By the way,I would like to say right now how much I appreciate everyone who has responded to my posts and helped me get over the hurt I experienced as a result of becoming a JW.

i was associated with the watch tower bible and tract society of new york and pennsylvania, also known as, jehovah's witnesses.

That is a sad story indeed,but I learned after a lot of heartbreak that people become cold and calloused when they become Witnesses.If your wife's family had been any other religion I strongly doubt they would have treated you and your wife like that.Soooo far off from the way Jesus taught!

Serena thanks "Jehovah" after US Open...
by jack2 inserena williams, after winning the us open women's tennis championship tonight, thanked "jehovah" for blessing her family.
in the background were numerous us flags, and of course, prior to the match, the williams sisters were there and standing while various patriotic songs were played (oh, that's right....they were already standing since they had to walk out onto the court....guess that's okay).
while watching all that i could not help but think of all the jw youths who have been told that they could not particicpate in organized sports at school or otherwise.

Smoke gets In Your Eyes.
by Englishman ini was just wondering, how many of us here took up smoking after we left the witnesses?
i have to admit that it was just about the very first thing that i did when i finally received that sumbeam of enlightenment that jw's were simply not anything special.
i drove out to a country pub, bought 2 panatellas and a half of red barrel, and spluttered my way through my first cigar n' pint.

I smoked for seventeen years and gave it up to be a witness.Now I have given up both and don't intend to ever go back to either one.
