The Mesquite Central congregation in Mesquite,Texas rarely had get-togethers.Last December they rented a building and had a talent show.It was organized and the invitations were sent out by two elder's wives.It was planned in October but I was never told about it nor did I receive an invitation.After the event,I kept hearing different ones talking about the "talent show" so I thought"Hey, the Witnesses are finally going to do something fun".So I asked a sister who I thought was a good friend what was all the talk about a talent show and she said"Oh,that was two weeks ago".Now,mind you,this event was suppose to be for the entire congregation but it was kept a total secret from me and my son's study conductor never mentioned it to him either.A sister who video-taped it did give me a copy of the tape(How sweet of her to think of me.)You should have seen them all sitting there cramming food in and telling their stupid jokes and lip-synching to worldly songs.It was on December 15 and they even had Christmas lights around the floor for a stage.Even though I very rarely missed a meeting and went in service every week not one person uttered a peep about an upcoming get-together.I don't think that would be possible without a bunch of people conspiring to keep it secret.If anyone from the Mesquite Central congregation reads this I would just like to say right now"You're all a bunch of sorry sons-of-bitches and I would never want to live in a world with a bunch of stuck-up a$$-holes like like you.

33Congregation get-togethers
by freedom96 indid your hall ever organize times for the congregation to do activities?.
about every 6-9 months, mine would have a congregation picnic.
people would bring food, and we would play a softball game.

Hi and Welcome Madison,
I faded away about nine months ago.I feel that is the best way.The elders have NEVER been to my house,not even once, since I faded.Maybe you will be lucky and they'll leave you alone too,though I don't know of anyone else who left the org. and wasn't bothered.I made up a bunch of goodie bags and gave them to the kiddies last night.It was a blast!Had the front of the house all decked out for Halloween.Sure is nice to be among the LIVING again!

first timer
by fairy inwell, i have been checking this board for a few days and love reading the comments.
i remember starting going to the meetings when i was 5 and continued till i stopped going to the meetings about 10 yrs ago......total of 25 yrs to the meetings.
i remember as a kid not being able to celebrate birthdays or stuff like that and wearing our dresses up to our knees....that was awful.

I know for a fact that Witnesses can be very cruel and judgmental.One time when we were all about to leave for field service an overweight sister was getting into a ministerial servant's car and he made the comment that he didn't know if his car could take that much weight.She made it through the morning but she started crying as soon as she got back and she never went to another meeting.All that talk about the love among them is BUNK.My son and I never got invited to any of their get-togethers because I was married to an unbeliever,yet they would freely talk about how much fun they had right in front of us.One sister even made a video and gave me a copy of a talent show they had right before Christmas last year,as if to rub it in.We made it to the end of January and finally stopped attending meetings.I think it's a shame that people give up friends and family for them and get made fun of and then get treated dirty by them.That's really "Agape love"huh?
