  my lovely wife is planning for the end of the world now.

  OMG that is so circular without any actual similarities even. When I went to book studies most people just left as quick as they could anyway since most had jobs to work the next day. Then I'd sit around trying to think up some conversation with the guy who's home it was at ,about as mundane as it could get ..... It's probly more about having people beat their kids at the hall where as at somebodies home they would be less likely to.

  the following is but a small list of the deletions, insertions and misinterpretations that are found in the jw version; new world translation.. .

  col. 1:15-17 - the word "other" is inserted 4 times.

  Yah I know they lied about their scholarship but still think the early church changed things around so am still kinda up in the air on who did what ,I don't believe a trinity and think the unity dogma makes more sense except for the part where they claim it's blaspheme to use the word God in connection with jesus .What's interesting is that the so called true scholars are also in question as to their integrity while translating the scriptures . I believe the word God is applied after jesus sits on the throne in heaven and he did have Godlike powers when on earth but only had them after being baptized and approved by his father in heaven as written in the account.

  it has a lot to do with their devious minds (the gb).

  as an old jw lady used to say about the people in the world "their minds are as twisted as their streets "(said with a little vicious twist to the words.

  ) the gb is so used to manipulation, and slanting, and twisting things to appear in the best light, they just couldn't bring themselves to say the simplest thing: we know life is busier nowadays and it's hard to get to meetings, so we'll cut down on the meetings so you have more time for your family and other needs.

  I think it really strange that they would clap over the situation of financial hardship being the reason of reduced meeting time .It must be a pavlov dog type reaction after years of clapping over mundane things such as congregation growth . WOW , I wouldn't have believed it . I agree that the end being close you would expect them to harp on staying close to the org. with more meetings . Maybe even build a compound in south america to get away from it all ......... well , we know what happened there last time.

  So what's your argument about , the trinity VRS. some type of unity ? The WTBTS claims it is restoring the bible that was already tampered with , since you don't have the original documents to argue with then it's pretty pointless. The WTBTS is very anal over the use of the word God in association with jesus but even if you use that scripture in hebrews you still see that the word "God" is used in association , that's the only problem I have with their argument on the divinity of christ , I don't think jesus was considered a God prior to his life course .The trinity dogma just has too many holes in it for me to accept .

  so, what is the "inside scoop" on how the society & friends view american idol & such "competition-type" shows.. i am wondering as my ultra jwdub relative turns up a nose to these shows.

  No kidding Fadeout , just to say American would mean nationalism and certainly idol would mean to aggrandize a person and exalting them over another . Tho not a dub I can remember certain things that would bring instant reproach and critique on a member and often would be something the "worldly" people wouldn't even think twice about.

  Personally I can't understand how they demonize the web but still have TV so as to worship the rich and famous charlatans while watching shows full of sex and violence and immorality .It's all about worshiping the evils of the world anyway.

  my loudmouthed sister asked if there were any announcements.

  the bookstudy is hereafter known as "the congregation bible study".

  It also helps them keep the electric bill down since the dildos didn't think of putting in solar energy .So now they look at very high electric bills. Don't worry they can just complain about not having money until people give them some to make them shut up.

  No it's the dual world power of the US and UK or the 666 beast that is the last world power mentioned (according to the WTBTS dogma). personally I'm still waiting on the scarlet beast devouring the whore of babylon (catholic church)IMO . I just know this thing is going to happen . They are a terror organization and throughout history have murdered and stolen and hated , not hard to find that in the history books.
