I have seen some religious based letters to the editor here in our hometown paper. I never considered sending one myself. I will have to give it more thought. Did you sign your name to your letter?

by Englishman inher ladyship's gone down to pompey to visit the crazy woman who calls herself her mother.. no 1 son is sweltering in st petersburg florida.. no 2 son is entertaining his girl-friend.. no 3 son is playing football for the umpteenth time this week.. so, i'm all by myself till tomorrow!.

when I used to attend the home book study every week, I never gave any thought to the neighbors in the surrounding homes or how they felt seeing 20 people walk in with briefcases and bookbags.I like beautifuls idea with the dog.

Hey all I invite you to a little experiment.......
by JPandelo inas i am sure most of you know my parents were told they were to be disfellowshipped by roger eisenhuth and steve stripling over the telephone today.
yes we know they were disfellowshipped for apostasy however, is'nt it curious that they were not provided an explanation for how the elder body came to their decision.
i personally think that it is something that is truly deserving of an answer.

I thought that "apostasy" was turning away from God etc.
If the W.T.S teaches that "apostasy" is anyone thinking or speaking against the organizations teachings, the reason for disfellowshipping could be anything the governing body dreams up that week. I used to think that disfellowshipped people must have done some pure evil act or something. I was so surprised to hear that you could be disfellowshipped for not agreeing with one of their teachings or simply speaking to a disfellowshipped person.
I think its cruel to announce to entire congregation of friends and family that someone is disfellowshipped for "apostasy" with no explaination, when all they may have done is told someone they had been questioning the blood doctrine etc. -

by D8TA inas ive made it known on this board, my current status with the watchtower bible and tract society is that of inactive.
this is a loophole i have utilized, to keep an open channel of communication with family members in the organization.. i want to clarify with everyone: i do not hold any doctrinal ideas, theology, ideology, opinions expressed in any form by the wtbts.
therefore, to simply put, i do not believe in the wtbts in any way, shape, or form.

Jays post said so much about his strength and personal growth but you decide to comment on a couple of words in his post that you find to be "filthy speech".
He said so much more, how could you not see that?!I didnt find out the truth about the W.T.S untill I was able to open my mind and look at the whole picture. I stopped reading only one assigned scripture and following up with the watchtower. I began reading the entire page of the bible and evaluating it myself. Only then I saw its true meaning, In other words I took the watchtower blinders off. Please think about that. Are you only seeing what you are told to see or are you seeing whats actually in front of you.

That sounds wonderfully relaxing!
The garden for sure!
I cant plant anything yet, its a little cool here. I have seen some tulips popping up though!
After gardening I would take a long hot bubble bath, give myself a facial, manicure and pedicure, complete with nail polish. Later I would probably meet my sister or friends at the mall for shopping, coffee & gossip.
If you dont feel like shopping or cant decide which polish to use, you could always stay here and bond with us!
I think your wife would get a kick out of the hotpink nails though! -

she's a sociologist (believe it or not) and knows about social issues.

It is so hard to continue to be compassionate when someone is ignoring you. I swear I used to almost chant this to myself at times so I wouldnt hate my family, "its not their fault they have been brainwashed" "It must be just as painful for them to believe that we are worldly and good as dead".
Right now my family is in a "Im worried about you" mode. I dont mind this as much as their usual "condemning" mode.
I do tell them that I am worried about them and continue to pray for them. Their response to this is usually laughter since they are so sure of themselves but I just igore it since I too was once very sure of myself and the society until I found out the facts.Terri,
I have not heard about the man jumping to his death.
I suppose his motives for suicide could have been enormous guilt or pure paranoia with all the news comming out about inappropriate behavior among religious leaders etc.

I understand.
I am also busy with my husband, very active 4 year old son, 10 year old daughter on her period, full time job, not to mention all the work keeping up the house etc.
I honestly dont think I wouldnt change a thing. I love them all.
I do sometimes wish there were more hours in a day though.
