Thank you Skully for your kind words,
Its sad when my entire family who should be upset by the whole thing actually encouraged it. Im really not sure any amount of reasoning would have changed his mind. I dont think a devout J.W. would change his way of thinking if you had a room full of therapists.
Thanks again,

plmkrzy;
Thanks for responding, I do feel the same way, but its easy for us to say "Im accepting Blood, who cares about the society, Go ahead disfellowship me." In reality most of these witnesses dont know a hillabeans about red or white blood cells, let alone basophils,neurophils etc.etc. nor do they care. Most of these are not educated people (thanks to the teaching of not continuing education) How convenient. As in my grandfathers case, when you have been a J.W. your entire life. You are talking 3 or 4 generations of J.W. family members all in the Org. because we were born into to it, staring at you while you ponder the thought of accepting blood. Not to mention the 2 members of the liazon (Sorry I have no idea how to spell that)comittee who didnt leave his bedside the entire time, ready to be judge and jury if he didnt do what they said was permitted. What would someone do? Before my grandfather died, he said his family, not the W.T.S, was the most important thing to him. I dont think he gave a rats ass about the society. But, the W.T.S. would make sure that if he accepted blood he would lose the most important thing to him because his family would have to totally ignore him, or risk being disfellowshipped themselves. I felt like I was in a room full of people who wanted to kill my grandfather, while my sister and I were whispering to him "just take my blood, it wont matter, it doesnt count, we wont tell anyone". Nothing worked but he did start to cry when we brought it up, I think maybe if we had him alone for awhile,, who knows... I do know The Org. sure put their mind control thinking caps on when they made the shunning rule because my family could care less about what the rules are, they will follow them untill they die, whatever they are or continue to evolve into as the years progress. The Card signing issue just makes me sick. Excuse me, while I grab the wastebasket.
Thanks for letting me vent......... -

A Taste For Blood.
by Englishman inwould you eat blood voluntarily, if it was, say, a major constituent in a food that you found to be particularly tasty?.
truth exists;only falsehood has to be invented.

I think most people know we have all consumed blood at one point or another, whether it be your own, animal blood-meat, or your mothers in her breast milk. Sorry, had to bring that one up again. I dont crave it or anything but I certainly dont think you would be judged by God for eating it, unless it involved sacrificing humans or somthing. I think that J.W. teaching is getting pretty old. It frustrates me when I think about it because having it repeated to me over and over throughout my life, I might still have a hard time accepting a blood transfusion without feeling at least some guilt. On the other hand I wouldnt think twice of letting my children have whatever medical treatment was necessary to keep them alive.
Anyway, I guess its a touchy subject with me. It really bothers me that people are willing to die because of it. P.S. Cool Breeze;
Uhhhhhh,,,,Did you just say what I think you said? -

Blood,Blood,Blood,,,Blah,Blah,Blah,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Im just sick to my stomach that these people think they can make decisions like these involving other peoples lives. People are dead and they could care less....I read somewhere that someone sued their church for not presenting Jesus in person as promised by their priest. I wonder, could we sue the society for loss of life, since victims were brainwashed by the Org. or is it considered their own free will since they signed the damn blood card.??? -

I havnt been visited much since I found out the truth about the Org. When they do come, I usually just fill their heads with questions to bring back to their elders since they can never answer them. For some reason the same people never return. I havnt gotten up the nerve to give them any incriminating liturature. I actually feel sorry for them out there in the cold. Especially the older ones. The only thing that makes me feel better is knowing they honestly believe they are helping people.. Poor little Watchtower servants...
I despise that manipulating Org. -

Being raised a J.W. I never celebrated a holiday untill now. I think J.W.s place too much importance on keeping people from celebrating. I can honestly say that growing up we spent more time talking about not celebrating holidays than any of the 10 commandments. Maybe its because its constantly comming up throughout the year. Anyway, I tell my family that I think its all about tradition, celebrating the birth of Jesus and being with your family. To me, having a Christmas tree up is like having any other decoration in my home at any other time of the year and when I start worshipping it then they can have reason to worry, untill then, I dont want to hear a word about it. I am not going to have my children grow up with the huge guilt trip I had for accepting Christmas gifts, eating B-day cake etc. Also, if you think about it, by having you refuse to celebrate holidays with your family this is another way for the Org. to distance you from your unbelieving family which makes you even more dependant on their Org. They say "We are your spiritual family, thats all you need". I didnt feel this way overnight or anything. The first time I had a Christmas tree in my home I felt so much guilt I was almost physically sick. I think back now at how much anxiety I felt over nothing. There are so many more important issues to be worried about. Oh, and its great fun with the kids too! Gotta go now, were filling out our Valentine cards!
