It does amaze me how the N.W.T. will alter the bible to support their teachings. Usually small differences. "a god" instead of "God" makes a world of difference.
One day reading the bible, I came to Matthew 25:46. It deals with hell and punishment.
Most bibles read, of the righteous going into eternal "life" and others into eternal "punishment".
N.W.T. reads everlasting "cutting off" instead of "punishment". I mean, what is that? I couldnt find the phrase "cutting off" in any other bible. I know it is a minor difference but their version more easily supports their teaching of "no hell and punishment" and other bibles support the hell punishment doctrine.

Any other churches call themselves the 'truth'??
by Beck_Melbourne inold habits die hard...and quite often in my comments i will refer to the borg as the 'truth'.
does anyone know of any other churches that refer to their own particular church or religion as the 'truth'??
also, does anyone know how it originated...all my life i have used the term...comments like 'how long have u been in the truth?

I dont really feel like arguing but I can answer the topic question. I do know someone who calls her religion the Truth, True Faith, and Living Faith. She is Apostolic Lutheren, I found many of her comments similar to what we used to say. "Worldly, We are living in the last days"etc. They are full blown, no T.V. no radio, have to wear skirts, cant cut your hair & wear it in a bun, no makeup, no jewelry etc. They make J.W.s look pagan.
Its interesting how much she trusts her "Edlers" as she also calls them. They are so closed off from the world. She honestly thinks "only" they will survive. -

Church clubs or local activities in your area.
Try volunteering at a local charity organization. I work at an agency and guys volunteer to carry surplus food out for the elderly people. I always think they are so sweet so do that on their own time. Lots of young ladies work in the offices too. This is very impressive! Also this may sound dumb but the grocery store is a total hot spot. I always try to go shopping with my husband because I cant get a gallon of milk without someone saying hello or making eye contact. There is always somthing to talk about. "Have you ever tried this"? etc. Some girls wont respond but dont worry, you dont want those girls anyway, eventually one will.

P.S. Dont go to the grocery store every day, they will think you are a stalker. Oh, and always have somthing in your cart and buy it. -

but even so, they still think of sex, they just won't admit to it, or have lost the key to their chastity belt.
when a man see's a nice looking woman, what's the first thing they think about: "wow, wonder what she looks like naked", not "i bet she has a wonderful personality.

If that is your picture, you are very attractive. I also noticed you are wearing a strappy style shirt. Not that there is anything wrong with that, you look very nice in it. I suggest though, if you do not like the attention you get while walking down the street, put on a turtleneck. If a woman is wearing a mini skirt and a low cut blouse, they are going to get attention. That does not however excuse abusive or demeaning behavior from anyone.
Most women I know love the fact that men are attracted to them. Some use it to their advantage.
I am all for women being treated equal. What really bugs me though is when women use the fact that they are women to get special treatment. This one woman who works with my husband brags up and down how she has a degree, must be treated equal, has to make the same $ as all the guys in the office but when it comes to time off, she whines about how she is the only "mother" there so she should have first dibs on all the holidays and says, she never sees her "babies".

I know women who think about sex just as much, if not more than their men. Ya' know what? My husband is great in bed and I love him but sometimes I fall assleep right after. I make more comments about his "package" and slap him on the butt more often than he does to me and I know he loves it.
I think as long as its not disrespectful or degrading etc. than who cares. Have fun and flirt. -

It is usually not very religious in content and deals with worldwide events or human interests. It is usually one of the first things a householder receives at the door.
After someone gets comfortable with having the J.W. come into their home and study, the Watchtower comes into play. This contains all those controlling and manipulative question and answer articles that are drilled into the J.W.s minds every Sunday morning. -

This is too funny.
My missionary aunt actually views it as "work", like a job.
When she was visiting, I was waiting for her to go into her "Jehovah Mode". I didnt really feel like putting my husband through that, she must have noticed because she informed everyone in the room that she was on "vacation" and would not be taking her bible out.I did catch my grandpa peeking at my grandmas watchtower to see what she had underlined. They used to hang out at the senior rest homes, leave a few books and have coffee for a few hours to meet their time for the month.
Sometimes they left a watchtower on my counter. I found out later that the entire time they were here visiting, they were recording it as their time. Im glad they figured out ways that didnt bother their conscience to keep from being total slaves.
I feel so bad for the older ones out there in the cold, going door to door.
