It would have to be the bogus blood doctrine that continues to be the cause of many J.W. deaths.
I wish the W.T.S would just disgard it already since its so full of holes.

What Should People Know About Jehovah's Witnesses
by expatbrit ina couple of very basic questions for you good folks.. 1)imagine that you are joe public who has never had any real contact with jehovah's witnesses.
none of your family are, or your friends.
you occasionally say "not interested" to them on saturday mornings.

Im trying to get better at this,
Just because I hate someones opinion doesnt mean I hate them as a person. O.K. O.K. I know, shutt up.
And no matter what Yardif says, Im not on the rag!
I hate his opinion, not him.
I hate his opinion, not him.
I can do this!
J.K. Yardif, are we still gonna move into that beautiful mansion together? -

Greetings!
It sounds like we have much in common.
I grew up in a J.W. family but married out of the "truth".
The people on this site and others like it, helped me when I was finding out the "real truth" about the org. I seem to learn more every day, not all pleasant I must say. Somtimes The truth isnt though. O.K. Ill stop now. I do have a tendency to rattle on.
Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!!!! -

Dont blame the witnesses, its the Bible...
by sleepy indont blame the witnesses, its the bible's fault.. well you can blame them for trying to stick to the thing, but belief in the bible is the main problem.. i've heard the gb and witnesses be called evil by some, as though they have gone out to hurt people on purpose.. but i doubt that this is true, at least in recent times.. no the problem comes from believing the bible is god's word and trying to interpret it and follow it.. what happens when you do so?.
you get the catholic inquisition, people burnt at the stake, you get jews fighting for a promised land, religious groups who let their children die and a host of other problems.. i ask a question.if you were god and were going to have a book written on how man should live, would you do it in such a way that if misinterpeted or taken too literaly or mistranslated slightly , could result in the death and suffering of thousands of people, and would enslave people to false religious beliefs?.
yes there are good points and principles in the bible, mainly the words of jesus, who didn't write any of it himself.. but a few good principles don,t outweight the bad done in the name of the bible through the past 2000 years.. the society has tried to follow the bible, and take it for real .in doing so they have had to take on beliefs and ideas that can ultimatly cause harm.. it is like me reading a instruction manuel for my car, that is a fake written by a non-expert.if i follow that manuel , although it may not be all wrong, some instuctions could be in error and cause damage to my car and risk injury to other people.. if people then come along after and say "well its not the manuel thats wrong , you've just misunderstood it , look if you do it this way, that way..".

Kenny:
I agree!
I have also brought that up.
Maybe God could care less who has the correct interpretation of the scriptures. Maybe whats important is how we treat people in the process.
I do agree mostly with that 10 commandment thing though. I think that was pretty self explanatory. -

I honestly dont think its the bibles fault.
It is scary though when someone picks it up, claims to be Gods channel and then uses the bible to control people.
Some people could use that reasoning, "It was the guns fault, I didnt kill him"! Well, maybe not. -

Why love God?
by joelbear inshould we love god and have faith in him because we are afraid of being annihilated if we don't?.
should we love god so we can be paid for it by getting a "mansion in the sky" or everlasting life or some other reward payment?

My J.W. family discouraged materialism but being obsessed with living in paradise always seemed so materialistic to me.
They always went on and on about how perfect the world will be and how young and perfect our bodies will be, not about our personal realtionship with God or our spiritual lives. Its like, the only reason they were a J.W. was for selfish, reasons. If someone wasnt a believer, they would say, "well then, they just wont live forever in paradise". Not, "They wont have a close, spiritual relationship with God". -
