I was raised a J.W. and began learning the truth about the organization about 2 years ago. When my grandparents pased away I started to study the bible without the Watchtower. "Bad girl", huh??
I noticed a discrepancy in the N.W.T. bible and the rest is history.
I can honestly say that I have learned more in the last two years than during my entire life in the organization. I cant say it has been all pleasant but it has been enlightening.

Good fruits from this forum
by Yadira Angelini infew weeks ago, i invited my jws daughter for a formal dinner.
i asked her to bring her closest jws friends, including an elder from her kh.. i let her know that i didn't have any hidden agenda on my part.. that i just wanted to have a good time with her and that i wanted to honor her friends.. she asked me how many she could invite; i said no more than six.. she invited three.
like i said, including an elder.. my husband cooked a delicious meal for them... but just two days before the event, i started to get 'cold feet'.

Mother Yadira.
Are you joking?
bluesapphire, (not allowed to call you mom?)
Well then, apparently its going to be an even larger issue since you are quickly becoming a "Virtual Forum Mother" to others on this board. (bluesapphire, hope you dont mind sharing!)I guess this proves that some people can find fault in anything if they try hard enough.
Its nice to see that you both are taking it so lightly.

Im navy,
April 7th.
Wow, thats very interesting!
It says I love my life,
I do, as a matter of fact, I believe I have actually posted those very words on a thread pertaining to that subject.
I feel bad about the last part of my description though,
It says that if Im angry at someone, I have a hard time forgiving them. I was about to deny it but then it occured to me that I have not and probably never will forgive the W.T.S for the pain and suffering they cause. I guess there may be truth to it.
It also mentioned that Im attractive! How sweet!
Thanks for the compliment!
I Guess it never saw me in the morning! -

My kids woke us up (very) early to hunt for easter eggs.
My husband and I were up till 1:00 a.m. last night, filling baskets and hiding plastic eggs. After breakfast we all went to church. My husband is a devout Catholic and never misses a Sunday. Hes not pushy and never asks me to go with him but I do occasionally. I usually spend most of the time staring at the beautiful stained glass windows and listening to the prayers that everyone has memorized except me. I usually add a few silent prayers of my own. To me the atmosphere seems more spiritual than in a kindom hall but then again it might be just that, "the atmosphere". Those high ceilings, large platforms, huge stained glass windows, shiny gold chalis "eucharistic cup" that the priest holds so respectfully. They would never think of passing it around like the witnesses do. Everything seems so majestic. Most people couldnt help having some kind of religous experience, just by being there. I remember one of the first times I attended a Catholic church, the sun was beaming through the stained glass window directly on me and "only me" during the entire service. Freaked me out!!! I like to imagine that this was a sign from God, like I was blessed or somthing and it didnt occur simply because of our choice in seating.
Anyway,
I see nothing wrong with attending church services as long as it doesnt completely consume or control a person. I believe that religious organizations should help us feel closer to God.
Some may succeed more than others though, as most of us have realized. -

This is a really good one....
by Inquiry inhey all..... i recently heard the funniest prank..... a neighbour of mine came over, with a beer i might add.... nice fellow... and during conversation found out that i used to be a witness... he was asking me questions and then he got this funny smirk on his face... i thought it was something i said, so i asked him what i did.... he started laughing and said he was just remembering what he and a friend did about three years ago around christmas time..... i had been out of the borg for over a year at that point.... apparently, these two pranksters... of course whilst drinking deeply of the barley and hops laden waters of life.... went to a canadian tire, bought $75 worth of christmas lights (about $5 usd...lol) and in the wee hours of a sunday morning... put them up around my old kh and lit them up for all to see when they came in for the 10 am meeting..... i asked around and apparently it's true!
laugh!
i thought i'd die!!!!!

That is too funny!
How about an Easter egg hunt?! Lets meet at 9:30 tomorrow in the Kingdom hall parking lot. Ill bring the bunny ears!
It would break my heart though to see the sad little faces of the J.W. children excluded from the fun. Maybe not. -

by sleepy ini hate you all!
ex-jw's are a bunch of $&^%& style posters, all seam to have one thing in common.. they never stick around for a proper debate.. just fire away some accusations, and leave.. gets on my nerves.. why wont witnesses stay and make their point against reasoned arguments?.

Sleepy,
I understand your thread.
I also dont care for posts like that. Generalizing etc.
I think everyone including myself though, has been guilty of letting the sh_t hit the fan once in awhile. Like you just want to get something off your chest.
In a perfect world I guess we would all have complete self control and never say anything offensive.
Ewww, but imagine how boring would that be.
