  Time To Pay Up...?

  i can't believe how tardy i have been in making a contribution to the running of this site.

  like the ever visiting guest who drinks all your wine, eats your steak and complains that there is no loo paper, i have posted here for over a year, whinged, whined and moaned and done absolutely nothing to support it financially.

  My JW daughter told me....

  we were driving in her car a couple of weeks ago, (the night i have visited her kh) and she told me, that she was going to postpone her november trip to italy; instead, she was thinking about going when the new system was here.

  i asked her amusedly: "are there going to be airplanes on the new system?"...

  she responded: "well.... we are going to be using our 100% of our brains".

  Is it natural to be with one person for a lifetime

  i've always wondered if there really is such thing as a paradise and a hope for eternal life would we be limited to interacting with only one person?

  the point could be argued from several perspectives.

  several scriptures would suggest that a man and woman once joined in marriage are to be tied only to each other indefinitely.

  I've been studying.........

  i have been studying with the jw's for several years.

  they have been pressuring me to become one of them, but something seems to be holding me back, instinct maybe?

  i agree a lot of their teaching are good, and i'm sure are the truth but here are a few of the things that bother me: jw's use the scripture hebrews 10:25 not forsaking the gathering of yourselves together...... to justify their meetings.

  I know what you mean.
  My doubts started with that "Gut Feeling" too.
  After much prayer I started to see the bible more clearly.
  Finding sites like these and reading books like "Crises" and another good one to read is "Questions for Jehovahs Witnesses Who Love The Truth" by Joan Cetnar. It is so helpful in exposing falsehoods of the Org.

  Thoughts about Depression and Anxiety

  this is mostly directed to others that were born/raised in the cult.

  more specifically those raised in the cult who also suffered from severe depression and/or social anxiety disorder or any other mental illness (other than the normal probs that come with being in the borg).

  sometimes i wonder if its just me that doesnt feel like a person now.

  You are not alone.
  I sometimes look back at what my family has been through and wonder how we even manage to get on with our lives. I have definatly learned from the experience and plan on warning my children of the dangers that exist and pray that they listen.

  hi everyone.while i have lurked on this board for some time this is my very first post.

  the main reason for my reluctance to post has been the fact that my job keeps me pretty busy - however i have enjoyed the board so much i felt i would love to be a more tangible presence and have decided to take the plunge.

  in the past i have sometimes felt like i have to be the 'bad guy', so to speak, because i need to lock or delete topics, deactivate people, try and stop fights and such like - basically, telling people off and not being 'nice'.. well, apart from the odd heated debate and harsh word (and disruptive 'visit') i have not really had a great deal to do for the past month or two and it has been very nice - a pleasure to serve.. so ... i thought i should say a 'thank you' instead of a "stop it!

  I agree there is nothing wrong with casual flirting. My husband is the biggest flirt. Most women adore him. He does have a hard time keeping himself from glancing at the attractive girls walking by. I dont get bent out of shape but I do tease him about it though. I think everyone enjoys looking at attractive people. So funny, one time I walked in the living room and his and my four year old sons eyes were glued to the t.v., a victoria secret comercial was on. I asked them, "so, what are you guys watching"?
  My son says, "girls in their underwear"....

  ), namely pleiades, modern astro-physics has shown he was quite insane.
