You did great. I don't think I could be that calm. We have a women from the hall that is stopping in where I work and giving one of the girls the magazines. I copied a few things from this web site and we put them in a envelope. The next time she comes in we are going to hand it to her and tell her to explain it. One is about 1975, then we have one on Beth Sarim, and then a couple of child abuse cases. Bet she won't come back.

So very sorry for your loss. Your mom may have been able to live a long life. No one can know what you are feeling, until you have lost a parent. I will keep you in my prayers and by all means wear your uniform. Be proud of what you are and take good care of your son and wife, they to have lost a big part of their life.

My husband was a elder and then he got removed when he left us high and dry. He said he was appointed by Jehovah's holy spirit. Guess the holy spirit made a mistake.

Sexless marriages
by Mickey mouse ini've heard of a fair few sexless marriages in the borg, probably something to do with the fact that if you're raised "in" you'll have a pretty skewed view of sex by the time you finally get to do it.
so if someone is trapped in a sexless marriage, from a jw standpoint they could get an unscriptural divorce...but...that doesn't leave them free to remarry??!
seems pretty sadistic really.

I haven't had any sex in 8 years. My husband can't get it up. He even saw a specialist, but nothing worked. The only thing that will help is if he gets a implant, but as soon as he found that out he dropped the subject. I wonder if the org has a view on this topic. They probably feel that it is not natural. He said we can do other things, but don't know what he is talking about since there is no more oral. Just another bump in the road, what a lonely life.

For me I keep a clean home, worked outside the home for 20 years, did all the things I thought we correct. My husband told me on our 42nd anniversay that we live in a divided home and the bible says that if we cannot live in peace to seperate. We never go out together he is just too busy with meetings and even does more at the hall since his retirement. I will be leaving the home sometime in March or April as soon as I get my Social Security as I am not allowed to even know what we have in the bank. No funds available for me. His only love is his god, the organization and his father, brother, sister and his two children. We don't even talk since his comment on our anniversay, and that was in August. Whatever you are doing keep it up. Sounds like you are doing something good and your mate seems to have a level head, mine is a religious fanatic. I will be sending a three page letter to his circuit overseer and a copy to the headquarters. I want them to see what it is like to live with a true christian. Wish you all the best.

I stopped believing when my husband left us because my daughter no longer wanted to attend meeting, and he was a elder. Had to seek assistance from the government to buy food and pay bills. He took all monies with him. The elders didn't know what to do, I attended meeting because the elders told me to do so. At the book study we were studying the Family book (this was back in 1985) the brother asked a question and I don't remember what it was. But my husband's answer was if your wife has wants she better want less. I wanted to die at the end of the meeting the brother allowed him to close the meeting with a prayer. I grabbed my son by the arm and walked out and never went back. THAT'S WHEN I STOPPED BELIEVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you ever get a green handshake?
by Awakened at Gilead inas a former missionary, i would eagerly and greedily look forward to going home and seeing local brothers and sisters.... i would try to give as many public talks and service meeting experiences as possible.... at either of these venues, i could generally take home anywhere from $100 to $300 from all the $20 or more green handshakes.... get-togethers were also an excellent tax-free money making venue (see all your old friends, and get cards from them)... and would generally net from $500-$1000 for a get-together (after an absence of at least a year or more).... so a trip to the us could easily bring in $2k..... tax free.... plus all the perks while visiting the us... the friends that treat you to nice restaurants, lend you their car, etc..... anyone else want to share their green handshakes stories????
let's expose greed green handshakes for what they are!
indulgences for the rich, greed for the clergy order of special fulltime servants!.

My husband gave circuit overseer a good green handshake. He got a thank you card in the mail and I asked for a receipt for income tax purposes. He told me it was none of my business, so I will be calling them to ask for a receipt. He said they pay income tax. I don't believe it. Can anyone back me up.
