  The effect of this religion on my children & the action I had to take - Part II

  so we are at the point where my daughter has been taking in my lifestyle for 4 years since she i left the truth when she was just 4 years old.

  my son who is a couple of years younger thankfully seems to be immune to most of the indoctrination from the jws.

  I have 4 kids, the 2 oldest have been to meeting and heard this crap and the 2 youngest have never hear it before. I hope that it dont affect them as they get older. I remember being a little kid and thinking that my mom was going to be KILLED by our LOVING FATHER JEHOVAH, because my mom would not go out in service. This is the exact reason that half of the mothers in the KH with DF'd kids are on anti-depressants. They loving god that they hear about every meeting is going to KILL their kids. But they all keep going back for more.

  i am so disgusted right now, more with myself than anything.. we have this big albertsons grocery store monopoly game going where i live.....the more of certain products you buy, the more tickets you receive.

  not only are there instant winners, but then you enter codes on line.. ha....after 2 months, i've won $5.00 and a bottle of clorox beach.

  i have spent more than i ever would have normally.

  I bought a bottle of snapple once, and under the cap it said that "you win a remote control caddie". I called the phone number on the cap to ask them what is was that I won. They told me that they could not talk about it over the phone and that I had to send the cap in with certified mail, and wait and they would send me my prize. So I spend about $20 to send in the cap overnight shipping. A couple of weeks later I received a package in the mail from snapple. I was so excited, after opening it I figured out what a Remote control caddie was. It was a plastic thing that you put on your coffee table and you can put your remote controls for your tv, dvd, radio. It ended up in the garbage, I think that snapple did it as a joke.

  ok a bit of idle speculation here feel free to add your own thoughts.. a few changes that the wts might make over the next 5 years and my odds:.

  144,000 is symbolic odds 2/1.

  I know that this will change, but it will be awhile yet, they can explain it for about 10 to 20 years, I have brought it up to my dad and his reply is that the new ones partaking, are not really part of the 144,000, they just think that they are. I have heard this from other active JW's too, I am sure that this is something that the GB has implied in the mags.

  2 years ago, I wrote a letter to myself stating that this would change from a literal number to a figurative number, and I mailed it to myself with a post mark and never opened it, so I can show it to my grandma and dad, and then ask them the question, how could I get new understanding years before the GB?

  I am hoping that when that day comes, it will be a powerfull point with them. I DON'T THINK THAT IT WILL, I just hope.

  I agree Terry, I hate that I was a JW, I hate that I even know what it is. It has ruined my relationship with my parents and grandparents. I HATE IT !! I come to this site to feel better and be with people that understand what this cult can do to people. I have many friends that are not JW's and never have been, they dont understand when I talk about it. I am in Aruba right now on vacation, and I still come on here to check in. THAT SUCKS !! I am working on moving on, but it is not easy.

  this is my first post, though have been lurking here for some time.

  maybe will share my story at some point...... i have been discussing the blood doctrine with a family member.

  we discussed the principle behind the law to abstain from blood was to recognise the sanctity of life and god as the life giver when a life was taken and should not apply to transfusions when no life is taken but aim is to preserve life.
