  Has your " Self Esteem " Improved After Leaving Jehovah's Witnesses ?

  it seems to be an issue that some have after leaving the witness cult because none of us were ever made to feel we were " good " enough or "valued " enough for what we were trying to accomplish in the cult.

  growing up i had pounded into my head by my jw elder father what jesus said, " after doing all things remember you are good for nothing slaves , what we have done is what we ought to have done.

  " then i thought to myself - " where's the joy in that ?

  Do Cults Produce Mental Disorders?

  lately reading lots of aritcles about what affects brain, so here is one i found interesting on culsts and mental disorders.. ---------.

  my basic thesis is that with cults, it is the belief system itself which is the primary active agent in cult mind control, and the actual controlling of mind is done by believers themselves, as they train and discipline their own minds in accordance with the tenets of their new faith or belief system.

  there's this old guy, and this young guy in a supermarket.

  each one is pushing a shopping cart around, and as they reach the end of an aisle, they run smack into each other.. the old guy says..."i'm so sorry, i wasn't paying attention to where i was going because i am looking for my wife.".

  i'm just wondering because i was raised to believe that a woman should get married and have children.

  i think that this is an out-dated philosophy and that girls shouldn't be taught that they have to be in a marriage to be complete.
