Tried to fade away

i left my chauvanistic po elder husband 2 1/2 years ago (after 20 years of marriage - ten of those spent pioneering as a couple).

i took my two beautiful teenage daughters with me - he did not seem to care too much that we were gone.

his main concern was the humiliation and aggravation of having to step down as an elder.

Welcome Mag! Your ex sounds like a jerk. Just be glad he didn't fight to keep your children involved...it could have been MUCH worse than it is from reading some other stories on here of people who've lost the fight to keep their kids out of the Cult.

Your ex probably fought for your DFing so he could go back to having a prominent place in the organization and snag himself a self-hating "sister" who has no problem letting him exert his masculine authority with her.

Here's something I don't quite get...most of the time men who are domineering bring a lot of that over into the bedroom. But with JWs all you have is missionary postition...lol...so what real benefit do they get for being "THE MAN" in the house? Just the feeling of superiority? Doesn't seem worth the trouble to me. If I were to claim "superiority" best be sure I'd be demanding some things in the bedroom that the JWs don't allow.

Link...he HAS to go. Not going is in effect admitting guilt AND showing unrepentance in the Elders' book. I didn't go to my hearing and what happened? I got DFed.

I would do what has already been brought up...

DENY DENY DENY (nobody saw you anyway, so what "two witness" proof do they have?) It's your word against hers.

Point out that nothing was said until you got a new GF.

Blame her accusations on her JEALOUSY.

Do the "false witness" scripture quotes, too.

If you play it right by the time you get done they will be looking to discipline HER and not YOU.

my oldest daughter (who is currently up in ct) just called to tell me my stepmother (wicked witch of the west) was in an accident yesterday evening.

she was riding a moped and crashed it into a parked car (don't ask me what an overweight 53 year old woman with bad knees is doing on a moped but whatever...supposed to save on the cost of gas or something).

anyway...she shattered her right leg and wrist in the accident (her good walking side) and apparently will never be the same.

Just got a phone call...

my oldest daughter (who is currently up in ct) just called to tell me my stepmother (wicked witch of the west) was in an accident yesterday evening.

she was riding a moped and crashed it into a parked car (don't ask me what an overweight 53 year old woman with bad knees is doing on a moped but whatever...supposed to save on the cost of gas or something).

anyway...she shattered her right leg and wrist in the accident (her good walking side) and apparently will never be the same.

Well I just briefly talked to my husband...his first words were "Well that's what she gets...what goes around comes around!" I think he despises her more than I do...lol.

He got mad when I suggested finding a way to get me up there. Me jeapordizing our finances to help her is the last thing he wants me to do. I can't say I blame him...he doesn't understand what my doing that would mean to ME even if it means nothing to anyone else. I might just have to go for the thoughtful "gift from afar" instead...

DJK...yes, my daughter is old enough to help. Thing is, she's been helping most of her life. Before this there was the knee replacement surgery (pity that's the side she shattered...it WAS her good side!) and general inability of my stepmother to walk very well or do too much on her own. My little girl was there through it all...getting her things she needed, cleaning house for her, etc. All things a child of her age shouldn't HAVE to do. She's not a nurse or hired help, she's a kid.

My father already does so much for this woman, as well, and now he's going to be stuck with three jobs, housecleaning, cooking, and caring for HER. I want to scoop him up and give him a LIFE...if only for a few days. He's told my brother that he is not happy with her but wants to remain true to his marital vows to care for her. He said if he left she would have nobody and may become suicidal...something he does not want on his conscience. I respect him for that but at the same time feel bad for him. I often wonder if things would be different for us if he was a happier person, himself.

I'll definitely be doing something nice, I'm weighing my options versus the financial repurcussions involved and will follow through with whatever I can manage.

I have a fake tooth...I cracked one of my front teeth in half when I tripped on the curb and went face first into the cement (no hands!). And no, I wasn't drunk...just ask the officer that was about to let me ride with him to drive my friend's stolen car back to her house from the gas station it was abandoned at. SHE was drunk. LOL He didn't see me fall and thought I had gotten the crap beat out of me when I went to my house to tell my oldest daughter I'd be right back. Boy was that fun...

Anyway...it couldn't be salvaged so they filed it down to a scary looking little point and fitted me with a fake. Both my front teeth used to be crooked, now only one is because they made the fake one look straight for me. I've contemplated breaking the other one in half, too, so I can have a straight smile for the first time since my adult teeth came in. I've had no problems with it so far...took a lot of trips to the dentist but all in all it was worth it!

Oh, and I'm not old. hehehe

Maybe so, Yikes, but that doesn't mean I want to stoop to her level. That would mean I'm no better than her. Did I tell you when she and my Dad were preparing to fight my daughter's father in court for her a few months ago she wrote an 8 page report on how evil I am? Every mistake I've ever made, every "perceived" mistake I've ever made, and whatever other rubbish she could throw in there. I really wish I had a copy of it to read.

I would love to go up there and do a bunch of nice stuff for her; clean her house, cook her meals, etc. and see what she has to say about me then. Might not change her attitude toward me much, but it could make her think twice. More than anything it would show my Dad how manipulative she's been in convincing him I am someone I'm not and it would show my daughter the same.
