i've read a lot of history on the home children, great depression..train kids...and so on and as i've heard politician after politician talk about a possible new depression era, i wonder if this is the beginning of another surge of abandonment.

there are already kids living in tent cities and cars and vans so i wonder if as the laws for the age of abandonment are increased, if we will see a surge in the coming years...sammieswife.. us shocked by spate of abandoned children 14 given up by parents under new nebraska law.

Didn't old testament say to stone the kids who were disobedient?

I thought it was only infants who were taken in at hosp. and fire dept. I certainly did not know it included teens. When did this part come about?

Yes, he sends his discreet "angel-army" to pull them out of their beds at night. Or pull them off their jobs at work. Jesus told us all about it already.

Two will be in bed, one will be taken. Two at the mill, one taken. Two in the field, one taken. In Luke, Jesus also tells us that they are being taken to their deaths. So I suppose the remnant is quietly martyred.

When Jehovah has such a sneaky way of conducting business in stealth and silence, no one even notices that it's happening until it's too late to stop the evil.

Only a fourth of "the world" is killed by Jehovah.

i dont post much at all any more but i had to mention this, i just got back from seeing religulous and cant remember the last time i laughed so hard.

it was great!!!!!!

close-minded religious people should save their money and not go see this movie but instead give your money to the next tv evangelist or street magician you see.

Does this mean we get a choice as to what we want to be?

I think the birds and the cats get a good life...better than humans. At least they do around here.

Think I might like to be resurrected as a redbird.

JWs and Alternative Medicine.

two anti-doctor witnesses i am very familiar with are my mother-in-law and my used-to-be best friend's aunt.

by alternative medicine i mean holistic healing, herbal treatments, etc.

these people don't go to regular doctors but go to self-proclaimed specialists (i call them shamans) who tell them what foods and plants to eat that will make them all better.

Is it because Revelation says they will go to the leaves of trees for healing?

Oh, by the way, some teachings now say that the Tree of Life mentioned in Revelation is the Bodhi tree. (It's a rare type of Fig; and also that Buddha received his enlightenment sitting under that tree.)
