What happens if you lose your home US style?
by ThomasCovenant ini'm not sure if i heard correctly on a bbc radio program this week but someone may have said that in the u.s. if you go behind on your mortgage payments and you simply hand in the keys and give up the home that's it.
in the u.k. if you do, i believe you are still liable for the shortfall owing.. e.g.
mortgage owing = 100,000. house repossessed and sold by bank for 60,000. the bank still pursue you for the 40,000 shortfall.. is this the same in the u.s.?.

Confession
by Adrianoblue inever felt uneasy during the first few dates with a "worldly" person, when the subject of religion came up?
did you kind of wait until you got to know each other more, or did you "confess" right from the start?.

wedding anniversarys
by Adrianoblue inyou`ve probably had this topic before, but there always was this one thing which kept bugging me: here in germany it is pretty common for married jw couples to celebrate their wedding anniversary each year.
do jws in the us or elsewhere do the same?.
well, the reason i`m asking, is the fact that i never really understood what the hell is the difference between such an event and a birthday party?.

Did you convert to become a JW?
by sacolton inwhat denomination did you originally belong to before becoming a jehovah's witness?.
i was methodist.
i was horrified when attending my first jw meeting and hearing the simple piano music over the speakers ... compared to the live orchestra performed at the methodist church.

another newbie
by Adrianoblue ini`ve been "hanging around" on this jw.net for a while, so this is my very first posting.
i`m a former jw from germany, learnt the truth at the age of 20, got babtized 3 years later, and left the wt (for various reasons) about 4 years ago.
so i just like to say a warm friendly "hello" to everyone.
