when i was jw i never had money but that was how it was supposed to be (have a boring part time job and pioneer)...i didn't worry about my pension coz paradise would come long before i'd reach that age.
well, now i will grow old (hopefully) and i do worry a little bit about my pension.
however, i do have some money saved now and earn a good living.
Fortunately I got a good education and a decent job that (so far) has been able to "keep the lights on".. but I still worry about money. I probably always will. It's built into my blood.
Come to think about it, I now "worship on the alter of worry"...
i remember ones when i was quite tired and low one elder said to me " it says in the bible that the one who endures to the end will survive, so really the only thing you/we have to do is to endure".. wow, gee, really!!
hey well that's a relief and encouraging....thanks.... i think that all that enduring was what made me tired and depressed in the first place..... what do you have to relate?.

so, bristol palin is through to the final on dancing with the stars even though it's obvious to everyone with half a brain that she doesn't deserve to be based on her dancing.
she's there simply because the obsessive palin fundies are voting for her.. i thought it was interesting listening to her describe people who think she shouldn't be there as "the haters".. what black and white thinking and typical of the religious / right-wing mentality.
people can't have an opinion that is based on reality and see that better dancers were voted off while she stayed way past her skill level warranted.
DWTS is a crack popularity contest. They shouldn't have open (phone) voting decide who stays or goes. It really should be up to the judges and at most the audience...

I consider myself (and Mrs Darth) the "classic" faders. We have been unresponsive to any "encouragement" for so long.. I beleive that the local elders don't even remember us.. If only there was some way to make our (really old) publisher cards vanish... that would be awsome!

I would agree that there is always technical progression, but I think it becomes less significant over time -- eventually the improvements are lost in the "cash flow noise" of the system.
(but i could be wrong... I frequently am)
