Basically a group were teaching that Jesus hadn't been fully human / a man, and that he was part God / or Divine while he was on earth.
The John author said these people were antichrist.

Of course there's a whole other industry now, of trying to find justification for an antichrist. I partially blame the 'Left Behind', escatological trash novels by Tim LaHaye.

i am not sure if anyone cares, but the drama with my mother and me leaving the org continues.. apparently after todays craptower she goes on a spastic rant that because of my decision i am slowly killing her and my father.
the funny thing is i do not feel bad over this... i can't.. i have children and a wife of my own that i need to be happy for.
i love them - but as they get older and closer to death i realize that a new season is coming and imust care for my family the best way i can... the same way they thought they were doing.
Today's watchtower is, no joke, all about meditating on the benefits of the organisation and how we shouldnt be distracted by normailty.

That's good to hear. Some witnesses I know do take care to visit the elderly.
it would be nice to start a thread with those people to reason things over in the bible.

To have a respectful discussion with people who still believe elements of JW doctrine, or all of it, would be very useful.
I remember when I was a baby doubter, basically it was only Blondie's review of the watchtower I felt comfortable reading. I was both scared and turned off by posters who would poke fun at the name Jehovah, like you mentioned, or who would be overly dismissive of (what I thought were) Bible based beliefs.
