if scientology has narcanon, and it has gotten people off drugs (although that 85% sucess rate they say they have is suspect), and becoming a jw sorta forces you into line, would it make sense to leave someone in if they were helping them?

if you knew somebody was a drunk, sex addict, drug addict, what have you, and they were studying, and it appeared that they were actually being helped (albeit by twisted means) would you leave them be?

like, if uncle jim was a fall down drunk that ran around on his wife, then someone introduced him to the wts, and it all stopped, would you still try and expose the cult even if they were actually helping and it was working?.

I suppose you're speaking of forcible deprogramming from a cult, and well...only if a person's life is in danger, they're being sexually exploited or they're being encouraged to commit crimes would I want to be doing that.

Ugly Sisters

o.k i have noticed that most female jws are ugly.and by ugly i mean ugly.they won't work out,they are fat and won't go on a diet (some female teens won't even shave their legs),they neglect their appearance/body in general.any opinions?.

p.s many will eventually get fat after marriage.

Well I've never been really thin, I'm voluptous, although I was a very skinny kid, but men and women have always told me I'm attractive, regardless of what size I am.

I was a large sized model for a short while in my early twenties, and sadly, "large sized" in modeling is a size 12-14. I'm pretty tall, so that's a normal size for me. I'm also what people call "big boned" and yes, I know people use that as a euphemism for "fat", but I actually am.

I can't even wear a woman's wrist watch or gloves because my hands are too large for them. I wear men's gloves and a man's wrist watch band. I wear size 9-10 wide shoes.

My size has intimidated a lot of men along the way, but my husband is nearly 7 ft tall, and outweighs me by a 175 lbs at least, so to him, I'm pretty average sized. LOL Standing next to him, I almost feel petite.

But, yes, I used to notice that"good brothers" are given the idea that they need only consider the most stereotypically attractive women because there is a much higher ratio of single women Witnesses to single men.

My husband likes larger women, and he was literally attacked by a lot of the larger sisters who hadn't gotten a second glance from other brothers back when he was single and was coming to meetings. LOL He said he felt like fresh meat thrown into a kennel of pit bulls.

But all my kids are giants too, naturally, with parents like us. My oldest daughter is six feet and even though she is thin, she weighs about 190. Size 12 shoes, and my son is only 17 and is 6'4" already, and 250 lbs...size 14 shoes and growing.

My husband wears...don't faint...size 17/18 shoes. And yes, it's true what they say about men with big feet.

LOL Mrs Jones...but you're right.... melanin stops at certain parts of the body, and that applies for everyone regardless of race or coloring.

Genitalia-wise, all women have pink parts.

And dont bring up penises (not unless you're going to use that thing!) because the shaft is covered with the same sort of skin as the rest of the body, just thinner.

Interesting article in Wiki about why there is a tendency for men to prefer lighter skinned women regardless of race, and for women to prefer men with darker skin.

Sexual preference for paleness in women by men has been found in cultures throughout the world. The effect has been discovered in Moorish Spain, where the ruling class was of darker complexion than the conquered natives. [ 10 ] In recent years, several research projects have suggested a general preference for lighter-skinned women by African-American men. [ 11 ] In his foreword to Peter Frost's 2005 Fair Women, Dark Men, U. of Washington sociologist Pierre L. van den Berghe summarizes:

"Although virtually all cultures express a marked preference for fair female skin, even those with little or no exposure to European imperialism, and even those whose members are heavily pigmented, the trend ... in integrated societies has [been toward] increasing popularity for men of colour, especially those [of] African descent. These trends have been recorded in areas such as South America, where in Brazil it was estimated that by 2009 black people of African descent will be the single most dominant ethnic group. In popular media in the western world 'blacks' have been repeatedly surrounded by advantageous stereotypes and myths that praise their athletic aptitudes amongst many other things, and often depict them as males of superior genetic inheritance."

However, there is an abundance of negative stereotypes as well. In Western societies, persons with dark coloring, particularly those of African origin, were viewed negatively for centuries. Such stereotypes almost always worked to the advantage of the dominant (white) culture. While there is evidence that these prejudices are fading, the wide level of variance between positive and negative stereotypes for the same skin tone indicates both the power and the arbitrariness of such issues.

The reason behind that may be something innate, like preferring women with a .7 hip to waist ratio, regardless of weight. Some evolutionary behaviorists believe it may be that the human brain associates something with lighter and darker skin and gender as being advantageous.

That thing may be that lighter skinned women have less trouble assimilating certain vitamins that are necessary for a healthy baby during pregnancy. That may be the reason that as people went north out of the equatorial zones, lighter skinned humans gained a few advantages, like more easily assimilating Vitamin D, where in those sunnier zones, it wasn't much of a survival advantage.

Of course, we have better diets and supplements that make that a non factor now, but it may be why men in all culures are almost universally attracted to lighter skinned women, and women to darker skinned men, relatively speaking. Evolution is weird and doesn't care about racial issues, it just heightens traits in humans that give you the best chance of getting more humans into the gene pool.

The opposite phenomenon, men of darker skin being preferred by women, has a basis in adaptation too. Darker skin is a physical advantage for men who work outdoors in physically demanding jobs. That very often goes along with upper body strength and women are universally attracted to signals for upper body strength, the "T" shaped torso in men. I call it carrot shaped guys, but just like men are biologically wired to look for .7 hip to waist ratio, women are biologically wired to look for darker skin (than their own), broad shoulders and chest, narrower waist and hips in men.

YMMV, because there are of course, other cultural and social influences,as the article points out that can and do override this, but on a purely biological/genetic level, this is what humans tend to think is "sexy".

I get plenty of nature. I live on a 20 acre farm. Last night the cats kept naturing out in the barn all night long. We call it the Cat House.

We've got 5 dogs, a zillion barn cats who are desperately trying to make a zillion more, snakes, rabbits, squirrels, possums, raccoons, bugs of all sorts, all kinds of birds, including blue jays and cardinals, red headed woodpeckers, and we used to have a herd of goats.

I've got plenty of nature, thanks. The family and I are going to plant a half acre vegetable garden tomorrow....yay nature.

Well, nothing much has changed for me since I wasn't highly invested in that whole Armadillo thing.

I am looking forward to finally completing higher education now that I have the chance, which will be great. Looking forward to that.

I haven't had that "living forever" thought for quite some time now, and it always seemed kind of unreal tome in the first place, so life as usual for me.

But, tomorrow I'm helping put in a half acre garden, mostly veggies, so I'm definitely busy enough that I don't always sit around pondering the future.

I have no idea of what it will be...if you'd asked me 3 years ago where I'd be at the moment, there's no way I would have answered that'd I'd be living 1600 miles from where I had been living for 22 years and planting a garden, and going back to college. *G*

I guess some people perceive Tiger as Black, but from his own statements, he does not. He is mostly Asian, actually, in terms of genetics. He has stated that of all those, his self perception is mostly Asian/Buddhist. His father is actually part Chinese, part African American, and Native American. His mother is also racially mixed, Thai, Chinese and Dutch. That makes his ancestry mostly Asian, he is half Asian. He is only 1/4 African American, and the rest divided between Native American/White.

Basically, Tiger Woods is genetically what geneticists and sociologists predict more people will be in a few generations as artificial racial barriers become less and less important or observed. In a few generations, if the social trend this way continues, at least half the people will be "tan" or racially mixed.

I think he just has a type, Scandinavian blonds, which isn't that strange...a lot of guys have a type they prefer as far as looks.
