Which men / lads here cry when listening to music / watching films?
by Celtic inyou know how some of us guys have to put on a bit of an act sometimes, we have to set our faces into our coping scowl, but underneath, we're too well aware of just how soft we are?
well.. what music to the big guys here only, not you wimpy bunch, brings a tear to your eye or which films is it that you need to keep a box of tissues handy by you to wipe away the dampness in your eye?.
for celtic it's a track by dido - white flag and also black eyed peas - where is the love?

What Couldn't You Do on Meeting Nights?
by Nosferatu init's funny how new rules were made in the house that applied to meeting nights only.
one major one was no video games before the meeting.
my mother also tried to extinguish worldly music before meetings.

I remember TV was a big deal to me growing up. I missed EVERYTHING. I think that's why I've grown addicted to it. I never want to do anything during the week except stay home and make up for lost time watching all the great prime time shows :)

Sounds like you have gotten some wonderful advice. The worse slap in the face you could do is to not just say "her looks are fading", but LEAVING HER FOR SOMEONE ELSE is like kicking her when she's down. It's one thing if you're un happy and want to leave it's another to make her feel like she's been "replaced".
In my opinion Dawn hit the nail on the head with this one:
We women can be pretty perceptive when it comes to our man and it sounds as if your wife already senses that something may be wrong and that is why she would over-react on the phone. If you love her, it sounds like a crucial time to show her that she is still your "babe" and not your "old lady" by courting her again and by looking at her like you would look at that young hot co-worker
There is a 13 year age gap between my boyfriend of 2 1/2 yrs and myself. So if I'm 24, that doesnt make him 11
He's NEVER been attracted to younger women, and I'm the first person he's ever dated that is younger. In fact if I get jealous it's usually over a great looking "older" woman. I dont mind when he goes out with friends to the "teeny bopper" dance clubs, but I wont let him go to an upscale bar where alot of hot, older, divorced woman frequent. My attraction was not money or monagamy as it was earlier suggested, there was just a chemistry that worked regardless of our age, and a maturity emotionally that was hard to find with men my age. That has always been MY attraction to older men. And yes, I've thought of leaving, everyone does at some point, but never for another person. It's hard enough to hurt someone by leaving, it's another to "replace" them

How could he remember my name?
Well obviously you must have left an impression on him, like you do so many, maybe that's why people invite you to be a guest speaker

When I hear things like this, I am ashamed to be 'white'.
It's not the color of his skin that is the problem, it's his sexual preference. KKK isnt about being 'white' it's about being stupid and ignorant and intolerant. Which by the way, any color can be towards homosexuality. You're friend shouldnt have to move, it's right to live where ever he damn well chooses. Unfortunately the reality of our country is that there are some "red neck" cities and counties where the "good ol' boys" still run as authority. Be careful with people like this

Disturbing phone call yesterday....
by codeblue ini would have posted this yesterday but for some reason it was unavailable.. i called one of my jw sisters, my turn to call.. a couple of months ago we all got together...hadn't seen any of them in 5 years.. well...she met my hubby and she said what he said was bothering her...i said: oh, i wasn't in the conversation what was it that bothered her....(my first mistake) seems like he brought up the un letter and something about what the real good news is.. she then started her hitler/nazi questions saying she is concerned about my spirituality....... i told her i have a relationship with jehovah and that is what matters...didn't stop her...i also told her i am a big girl and have taken care of my spirituality since i married the first time and left home.. i got off the subject by calling after my dog...and i was shaking the whole afternoon.. ya all know i am fading....geez...i wasn't prepared for this conversation...i am debating on telling her if she wants to continue a relationship with me then she needs to respect my spirituality and not question it...according to romans 14 where it says: each one has an accounting before god.
while i was married to husband #1 she never wanted to hear anything negative...so i had no support during that time and during my divorce as well.. she mentions she is concerned about my spirituality cause i don't talk about meetings or field service.
i would like to reinforce the fact that she doesn't like negative conversations, remind her of my marriage and divorce and after my divorce when i wanted to have an ear to listen to me, but she didn't...so since she set the rules of no negative comments that is why i chose not to talk about meetings or field service because they are negative>.

Religious Extremists Will be the End of Us!
by Greenpalmtreestillmine inthe islamic religious extremists are destroying their people.
just as the christian right in the u.s. is more interested in it's own needs and wants than that of the country itself.
so too the islamic extremists want what they want regardless of the consequences to their country or their people.. ironically, osama the ultimate islamic extremist decided to attack the u.s. at just the moment when a christian right extremist was in power.. if christ's man gets elected maybe christ will decide to strike another country in the middle east and if osama survives maybe allah will decide to attack the u.s. again.

Kinda reminds me of the settlers attempts to "civilize" the Native Americans through Christianity
