"Who else are we to go away to?"
by simon17 into the intellectually honest witness, it seems like it often comes down to this principle.
"fine, if the witnesses aren't the truth, then show me the better answer and i'll consider it.
" and how do you deal with that?

my truth is, there is a hope, i believe that but i dont know what it is. i have a faith in something i have absolutely no understanding in.
i dont even understand what happened last week, tho i can read about it all over the internet and in newspapers, so having any real understanding from ancient texts is beyond me.
so now i just settle in the fact that i know nothing, and im willing to admit that.
and that is a very lonely place, but i feel it is an epiphany in itself to be able to admit such a thing and to come to such a conclusion.
but of course if i were a follower i would have the privilege of others telling me what i know from what they suppose.
but it seems to me that you and i know more than they do in knowing that we know nothing.
and yeh its lonely.
cos everyone else seems to either know something, or they know everything.
it seems to me that knowing nothing is an incredibly difficult thing for believers and non believers to grasp.
believers believe that they know about their god and their future, while non believers believe they know about their history.
but as far as i can see none of us truly know anything about fk all except our own immediate surroundings,
and truth be told, we often know very little about that either.
but to know and admit that is another matter. and i feel a step in the right direction
but i dont know what that direction is.
its a lonely one tho.

Disfellowshipped for eating FATTY FOODS, BEING FAT, BAD DIET
by free2beme inheart desease is the leading cause of deaths in this country.
bad diets are leading to an ever increasing population of diabetic and fat children and adults.
if we keep this up, more and more people will be too sick to work or live a normal life.

this is a totally valid argument, one ive thought about myself and even raised when confronted about being a smoker, by those who are definitive overeaters. but alas logic does not have a place in the wt teachings..
but yeh its a genuine valid point

The Sun is Alive and Exerts Power
by sabastious intell me if i am crazy, but i think the human race is ignoring something extremly simple.
when we go outside on a cloudless day... we all seem to ignore the giant burning ball in the sky.. think about it.. the sun truly is the bringer of all earthen life; without it's effects we would all perish.
did you know we have never sent a probe to the sun?

hang on tho, it was sunny today and the moon was in the sky too, and it certainly also exerts power.
come to think of it many things are alive and they exert power.
could you attribute the same to magnetism, electricity, gravity, even the theorised supermassive blackhole at the center of the galaxy?
but i get some of your point, we do take it for granted.
But we take lots of other stuff for granted too.
ungrateful currs that we are.

on second thought, man, i wish you the best with trying to appeal to your mother BUT, it's going to be a very difficult thing to backpeddal that indoctrination if you ever can.
the direct approach has never yet worked for me, and fool as i am i still lose patience and resort to it every once in a while. but that only seems to take me back a few steps if i ever got anywhere to begin with.
i suppose it all depends on your mother.
be careful not to completely alienate yourself, and maybe instead of your direct approach its possible just your heartfelt humanity may speak for itself and win out in the end.
but thats another ballgame entirely.
Its very very difficult, i can appreciate how you feel.

I stopped reading when you said you didnt believe in armageddon, because you're obviously an apostate and i dont want to read anything more you have to say.
now if you had started with the watchtower quote on the other hand
i would know that you're obviously apostate and i dont want to read anything else you have to say.
oh and that UN thing is just a big lie, dreamt up by wicked bitter apostates.
and i dont want to hear anything they have to say
and just to finish, when you said you were not satan and that in fact you were Ben.
i knew you were in fact satan speaking through Ben trying to stumble me with your wicked bitter apostate lies.
you're going to die at armageddon along with your children.
i will not be speaking to you at all anymore.
40 years?! good luck.

I look at it this way, generally somebody has to take the lead.
whether it be a sport, or an army, there generally needs to be descisive organised desicion maker, sometimes its the man, and sometimes its the woman.
i think the part that is totally glossed over is the part where a man should treat his wife as himself. and thats the part where it all gets messed up.
and thats when the domineering begins.
also i might add, and importantly, if forinstance the manager of a team says the team should do this, or the team should do that. and the team disaggree, then the desicion is likely doomed to failure. There also has got to be a general consensus in the desicions being made.
which brings us full circle back to partnership.
oh f*** i dont know, i'll ask my wife then i'll get back to you.
