loosie, you obviously haven't been keeping up with recent threads. Obviously God is so much greater than us that we daren't question him. Be grateful he gave you the gift of life and bow before him!
Awesome post.

What's the average rainfall in the Amazon basin? (Gary Larson used it in at least two of his comics.)
dear all,.
i discovered this site only a couple of weeks ago and i already feel affection for you.. i am a 48-year-old woman and i live in spain, where i was born and raised, so i apologize in advance for my inevitable lack of style and possible grammar mistakes, due to english not being my native tongue.. i grew up in the truth and jehovah and the congregation have filled my whole life.
i've had little contact with the outside world.
Thanks for sharing your story goldensky. Welcome to the board.
did you notice any young jw sisters in the past that did rush to get married too young and to have a baby right away before the end comes?
did you hear any stories of regret?
i was wondering if the watchtower is to blame for?.
Let's not forget that the only way for women to acheive any kind of status in the congro is to hitch her star to a brother in good standing. Want to go to bethel? Only if you marry a bethelite. Want to be a missionary? Only if you have a husband who can swing it. Want to be in the travelling work? Only if you marry a CO. Want people to respect you? Only if you marry an elder. There is nothing for a single woman in that organization.
i finally translated another issue of our boredom ministry.
join the great cloud of witnesses!
how can we imitate the faithful men of old?.
Quite enjoyable.
i have just been watched the first part of a sort-of theist vs atheist debate on youtube featuring christopher hitchens.. what struck me is that in all of these types of debates that ive seen, the christians, when faced with the question why does god allow suffering, never really provide any sort of satisfying answer.
its usually something along the lines of:.
our question shouldnt be what is *god* doing, but, rather, we should ask ourselves: what am *i* doing?
Humans have more in common with microbes than they do with God. God created the entire universe, and knows every detail about it. What gives "YOU" the righ to think of yourself as one of God's children? On what basis do "YOU" get to refer to God as your "parent"? Show us from the bible.
WTF? Let me stress this again. IDO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD. I do not refer to God as my parent or anything else. I'd sooner call the Flying Spaghetti Monster Pops.
However, the Bible, which I assume it is the God of the Bible that you are referring to, repeatedly makes mention to him having human children and calling him Father. 1 John 3:1-10 for example. It doesn't matter if it's applied to all of humanity. The point is that the Bible makes a parent/child comparison between God and humans. If you're talking about some other God, fine. But this one has opened himself up to being held by human standards.
Genesis 1:27 God created man in his own image. Not even remotely similar to a comparison of men and microbes. Again, if you want to believe in the god who thinks of us bugs to be squashed on his windshield, fine, that's your right. But that definitely doesn't jibe with the description of the God in the Bible.
well finallyyy i was able to create an account here after trying several times and being unsuccessful.
thanks to the mods for helping me out.
i have been hanging around this site for several months now.
The reason you have the number 9 after your name is because there is another poster here named stillin. Nevermind the fact that you are going to confuse bluecanary, the point is that there are definitely other people here in your shoes who can offer you solidarity. Welcome to the forum.
i decided to join the group though im reading this forum since years now.
i almost know you all....by nickname i mean..... my husband joined you a few years ago already.
but i do not feel so free of speech because english is not my mother tongue, but i read a lot english books, have some relations with english speaking people, have a nice friend who is active on this forum and very known (because of her discoveries), so i will try to do my best.
Welcome to the forum, deep-blue-sea. And welcome to the smaller club of people who have the color blue in their screen name.
... i furthered my education and embarked on a career.. ... i bought my own home computer for the first time.. ... i got to play and record a lot of my own music.. ... i dated around a lot.. ... i travelled to a few foreign countries.. ... i got married.. ... i had a kid.. ... i learned the truth about "the truth".. a lot can happen in ten years.
what changes have you gone through since 2000?.
I think too many of us have gone through a lot of heartache with the b0rg in the last ten years to be enthusiastic about this thread. Maybe those of us who just woke up will have a laundry list of things to celebrate ten years from now. I'll tell you what's gone right for me in the past year since I left the b0rg:
I moved to a new city far away from my ex and his insane family
I got great experience in a new field of work (though it ended sadly)
I found a wonderful boyfriend whom I will probably be with for a very long time
I decided to go to school full time for a career path that is in tune with MY life goals rather than worrying about what fits with the stupid cult
I decided I want to raise a family and am working on plans to do so, a goal I was denied in the cult
I feel more comfortable in my own skin and confident with my life choices than ever before

If we are discussing the God of the Bible, the comparison between him and humans is already made for us. He is described as Father and humans are spoken of as his children and are supposedly made in his image. The comparison to animals is not valid in this case.
