Add your favorite JW prayer cliche'
by King Solomon inyou know what i'm talking about: the trite, often-repeated phrases that convey the person offering the prayer has drawn a mental blank, and utters these words while their brain desperately searches for the next cliche', so they can conclude the ritual with the required tag, "in jesus' name we pray".... (is that like the postage stamp?).
ok, i'll kick this one off, and take the most obvious:.
"forgive us where we fall short....".

Meal with my father
by Gorbatchov intoday i had a nice experience: an evening meal with my father, a former elder and secretary.
he stepped down a few years ago but remained a "stable" congregational member, and performing the ministerial servent job.. tonight the conversation went on the candace conti cage.
we are north western europeans but he read about it in a newspaper.

Today I had a nice experience: an evening meal with my father, a former elder and secretary. He stepped down a few years ago but remained a "stable" congregational member, and performing the ministerial servent job.
Tonight the conversation went on the Candace Conti cage. We are north western europeans but he read about it in a newspaper. He acknowledged that our believe has also problems with child abuse.
I told him about the list of 15.000 USA JW's that are known abusers. He acknowledged the fact that the WTS policy was to not involved police and authorities about these cases and told me that the WTS was very wrong.
I told him about Watchtower history, about real first president H.W. Conley, about the crazy Rutherford and his expensive houses and cars and drinking problem.
About our believe being a corporation with shareholders.
About some divisions of the WTBTS being a part of OVSE.
About the multi milion dollars at the WTBTS account.
About the 1 billion dollar real estate and property managers.
About the JW tradition not to say the truth about this all, but to stay silent or to deny what is going on.
He listened and told me the only good thing of our believe was helping him being stable in life. He called the JW culture a communist culture, and agreed with me that the WTS is a corporation.
Then he spoke about getting older and preparing for moving to the direction of my hometown.
This was a very remarkable night!

Do you hear the victory music also on the background? Like the US is defeating old Europe.
These people are far away from the "rank-and-file" witnesses.

yesterday @ congregation part 2
by Gorbatchov init was an inspirational evening at the meeting yesterday evening.
there was a nice comments @ congregational bible study (former bookstudy) about listening and obying the slave.
"if we are told to go left, we are going left, if we are told to go right, we are going right".. the comment was welcomed by the book study elder of course.

his mouth fell wide open hearing the accusion of the catholic church in a magazine presentation demonstration.
the church was blamed for child abuse and the new order was the solution for this problem.. the watchtower society defends itselfs talking about abuse is a act of individual persons and no reason for blaming a whole religion.. everday the rank and file and the local and regional management of the witness blames institutions for every bad thing they can find, but dont want to look in the mirror..

Sparlock has a different name in some other languages
by cedars ini know for a fact that our beloved hero sparlock has been given a different name in at least one other language version of the "become jehovah's friend" dvd.
caleb has also been given a different name in the same video.
obviously it makes a degree of sense to rename caleb according to names that are common in various different countries.

Is the DVD with Sparlock released worldwide? It could be released only in the top 5 languages. (US / English, German, Spanish, French, Italian).
Why I say so: my county's language (Netherlands / Dutch) is a small language group, not all digital WTS publications are released.
So, I'm not sure that our big friend / hero Sparlock is going to land in our country. I let you know, our convention is end this month...

some elders did parts of the meeting.
i mentioned they acted tired, worn out and on routine.. they walked slowley, tired to the stage and did so walking from the stage.. it seems they are fed up with it.. gorby.

Awful, horrible: still no official WTBTS statement about the child abuse case

the wtbts, the corporations, the pr staff in brooklyn / patterson gave no official comment about the child abuse case.. only the lawyer of the "local congregation" gave some remarks.. humiliating for the victims and also for fellow believers with a conciense and good hart.
they only can questioning why the wtbts is hiding..

The WTBTS, the corporations, the PR staff in Brooklyn / Patterson gave no official comment about the child abuse case.
Only the lawyer of the "local congregation" gave some remarks.
Humiliating for the victims and also for fellow believers with a conciense and good hart. They only can questioning why the WTBTS is hiding.
