  The latest change in Watchtower vocabulary to catch out the unwary

  i got a copy of the recent kingdom ministry the other day and it reminded me of something in the book the orwellian world of jehovha's witnesses by heather and garry botting.

  it's on the front page of the december issue of the km, they have a heading called "not 'alternative' witnessing" where they explain that the term is no longer considered appropriate and "public" witnessing should be used instead.. in the orwellian world of jehovah's witnesses the bottings discuss the importance of the particular language jws use to set themselves apart from other people.

  they redefine common words to give them a particular slant, such as "brother", "sister", "literature" and so on.

  Closing down of all non-native congregations in The Netherlands

  this weekend serious sources told me that in the netherlands the society is closing down all non-native congregations.

  because of the mixed population of this country, there are >100 non-native congregations like english, france, dutch-caribian, arab, chinese, italian, russian, spanish etc.. my source was backing the dissision of the society because "these non-native congregations are islands on their own, with group-thinking and not allways listening to the society..." and concluded "these non-natives has to learn dutch instead of we are learning their language".. strange: some years ago many jw's learned a foreign language (like arab or chinese!

  This weekend serious sources told me that in The Netherlands the society is closing down all non-native congregations.

  Because of the mixed population of this country, there are >100 non-native congregations like English, France, Dutch-Caribian, Arab, Chinese, Italian, Russian, Spanish etc.

  My source was backing the dissision of the society because "These non-native congregations are islands on their own, with group-thinking and not allways listening to the Society..." and concluded "these non-natives has to learn Dutch instead of we are learning their language".

  Strange: some years ago many JW's learned a foreign language (like Arab or Chinese!) and now they are all closing down.

  There could be 2 (or more) reasons:

  1) these congregations are a real danger because of their autonomy

  2) the society is aware of the Dutch political situation (Our country first) and is ending the multicultural JW populations.

  today i read in a newspaper an article about north korean and chinese state art.

  the style of painting is "extreme naive".. these paintings remembers me of the wts paintings in their publications.

  with a smile, and also with pain in my heart i'm watching the similarities.. .

  If You Have Had the CO or DO Stay With You...

  for those of you who have had the co/do stay with you for the week:.

  how was the experience?.

  how did they spend their free time?

  It should be great to know what the CO or DO and their wifes opinions are about the family's they stayed for some days. That part of the book would be interesting too!

  Poor bed's, ugly bathrooms, crazy animals, stinking rooms, bad climate homes (cold / hot), loud television during early night, loud family couple in bed, family that want's to do everything perfect because you are the CO/DO, no privacy, verry pretty / hot daughters you don't know where you have to look at!!

  CO or DO (and their wifes) live in a kind of hell, but they can't do anything else, without any education etc.

  Reasoning technique in sunday's watchtower

  i read some great comments on jwd about the illustration in last sunday's watchtower.. does somebody know how this technique is called?

  i mean, publish a normal illustration, make a comment that there is something different to see,.

  people think "there has to be something special on that picture, so the brother with the purple tie could be not humble or bla bla bla".. or the brother with the big eyebrows is not normal, he is oversexed because he has to much hair in his face.. in some asian communist country's people with glasses had to go to jail or would be killed because it showed they could read!.

  A cruel psychologic technique!

  Because step 2 is watch the brother and sisters in the congregation. And you see a brother with a big eyebrow or a brother with a purple tie.

  Or a sister with big inside!

  Costs of Circuit Assembley

  recent we had a circuit assembley.

  we used the jw assembley facility.

  it's (the building) totaly payed off without any mortage.

  Recent we had a Circuit Assembley. We used the JW assembley facility. It's (the building) totaly payed off without any mortage.

  Still we (the congregations of the circuit) have to pay 10.000 euro for the use of this WTS building for one weekend!

  Our small country beside the Nord Sea has 2 assembley halls and 52 weekend. The WTS maximum income is 2 x 52 x 10.000 euro = 1.040.000 euro.

  $$$ Fun isn't it?

  When JW's build new kingdom halls in The Netherlands (Europe) they have a mortage of +/- 1.000.000 euro.

  Sometimes the kingdom hall's look like real church buildings.

  Fast Building has stopped here, all halls are partly build by external companies and finished by the RBC's.

  JW's stopped fast building projects because of the very poor quality of these buildings.

  good news from steven pinker, in the better angels of our nature.. conclusion: the world has become less violent and more peacefull.. that's a great perception and good news, isn't it?.

  and contradicts the dark perception of the world getting worse all the time from the kingdom hall platform.. gorby.

  Sitting Still at Meetings has Become an Impossibility

  since i know the truth about jw, and still have to go to meetings for family reasons (and because i don't want to leave my friends, either) i get so sick in my chair in the hall.

  i can't pay attention, i can't sit still knowing it's all such a waste of time and a big fat lie.

  i get weird symptoms like: the feeling that i'm going to almost pass out, very sweaty or very cold, and weak legs though i'm sitting down, and the urge to get up and run away.

  Hi Veblablabla

  I remember having this feelings 15 years ago. It went away when I accepted it was me that was right and the others are part of the cult (so they are wrong).

  Step 2 was accepting that i was not right at all because there is no right or wrong. (pff this is a hard part of my accepting stages)

  Step 3 was accepting that "they" actualy need us (apoblaba) for feeling all right in their believe. You need an enemy for feeling perfect.

  Step 4 is that I can totaly ignore their information in the congregation. I walk in with my family and kids, greeting everybody with a big smile, and one hour later I leave the kingdom hall with the same big smile. (once a month or so). Between walking in and walking out the kingdom hall I play with my 2 kids, walk to the kitchen or the second school-space and give the kids some beverage and see (and hear) the sisters of elders gossip about others in the same room, I just pretend not listening....

  Step 5 is a great part of the sunday with my JW family. That's why I'm attending. It's a entrance-card for meeting some fine, friendly people and have some great food and drinks!

  That's Gorby's hypocrite world at the moment...!

  The new writing department of the WTBTS

  there is a new writing department in wt land.. us.. think about it, the watchtower/jehovah's witnesses are a reactive 'religion', not a proactive one.. that means of course that they react and modify doctrine, rules and direction in response to what ever may be effecting them.

  probably the last time they were proactive was the 40s and 50s but these days its all about preservation rather than growth.. i am sure that the actual writing department have eyes and ears out in 'aposta land'.

  after all, who discuss and disect the books, magazines and letters more than we do?

  I think that you have a good opinion. They read the comments at JWN and use them for their changes. I think the recent 1995 change was one of them.

  Did you see the new WT articles about JW's history? They rewrite JW history now and react indirect at the questons reased on JWD.

  So you are totaly right.

  And the writing department is mentally diseased. (other departments also).
