many on here are keen to hide their identity, me included, i don't want to be df'd and many of the views i express on here would be enough for most jc's to df me sine die.. anyone reading on here who knows me a little more than vaguely could work out who i am, my list of cars i have owned for example, on another thread.. but what could they do ?.

For me, I have been gone for over 30 years from it, with nothing to fear. So, I just ID myself in case somebody else from the old days wants to say hello. A few have, from here, over the years.
It sort of seems like if you are afraid to let the JWs know you are "out" that you are still somewhat under their control - which I would not want. But, I completely understand the situation with people who have family still in it.

this is a serious question, trying to decide the right thing to do.........i do believe in god, i am sorting out what i believe and true from lie and such.

Wait a minute - did the original post claim there are 5 million Islamics in France, but also say this affects only 2000 women there?

If the father did not change his views then he would not be used in the congregation. I do know of a case where one was df for not following the counsel of the elders where they wanted a brother to stop associating with a married sister.
Like I always say - it all depends on the level of prejudice of the local body of elders. The above, IMHO, is NOT a strictly legal WTBTS disfellowshipping offense.
The dual penalty - DA versus DF - is indeed (much like it was back in the military draft days) a most hypocritical way for the WTBTS to try to cover their sorry butts legally from any liability. I don't know if a court of law would actually see any difference in the two.
my grandmother practises/used to practise spells,would go to mediums,and believe in witchery-related things.she is an active jw and the elders had been told about that and they said that there is no evidence and the case closed but there were 2-3 witnesses.no jc and no disfellowshipping.why did this happen?any similar experiences?.

I have to say that even the JWs I knew back in the 1960s and 1970s prior to 1975 would probably have never done such a thing as the elder's wife did.
I think they really have changed much for the worse since I left in the late 1970s.
