I am definitely glad you are back.
i left as an inactive person.
i pretty much have been left alone by the elders and witnesses, as far as being hounded.. i know of many that either disassociated or got disfellowshipped.. i'm wondering if you think you would have remained a jw, in name only, if the religion (cult) didn't shun and penalize as they do..
I left because of the back-biting, church politics, and position power struggles.
as i grew up in the religion, i was a 10. i wanted to be made a "servant" because that was instilled in me from infancy.
i diligently studied ever piece of watchtower literature and defended my religion intensely.. when i got into my 30's, i started to see little cracks in the watchtower's surface but decided to "wait on jehovah".
then i started to research a little more critically and realized i couldn't defend the prophecies, the treatment of people and the hypocrisy that was becoming more obvious, that especially an elder can see.. it was a gradual thing---from a 10 to a zero!.
When I was 19, it was a definite 10. When I was appointed as an elder in my 50s, it started to drop until within 5 years it became 0. The church politics and backbiting done me in.
talk about a fun looney group, devo and their new wave music made even people with two left feet dance crazy.
founding member bob casale passed, he was 61.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iievqfb4wuo.
I wonder also what may have resulted in the heart failure. I always look at others around my age.
i heard from a reliable source that there will be no more 2 day assemblies, but instead 2 one days each year.
anyone heard this yet?
supposed to start new service year.
This is so wonderful. Why didn't they have these fewer meetings and shorter meetings when I was a jw? I guess that modern day jws do not have the time and resources to sacrifice towards these meetings.
this morning two elders visited me and said this years memorial day is on april 14, and we are informing you well in advance so that you can arrange your affairs and attend.
[i had given them the impression that i am very busy due to my secular assignments, hence most of the time out of station.].
then i thought two elders visiting me cannot have an ordinary purpose, and i should give them a piece of my mind.
Thanks for the posting. Very interesting reasoning and hopefully those 2 elders will think upon it.

amazing... one drug that could potentially cure any viral disease, including hiv!!.
being developed since 2011..
Thanks for the "good news". I agree that instead of this being the worse time in history, I would not live at anytime else in the past. I am glad that scientists are not putting their heads in the sand waiting for Armageddon. I appreciate that they are developing ways to help us have better and healthier lives.
so during the serve-us meeting last night an elder says something really dumb..as usual.
it was the km part about doing better in field serve-us.
they are discussing how to reach people, and how to be nice, blah, blah.. the eldub says, "we want to be kind to our neighbors, and talk to them and take an interest.
According to Dictionary.com, a friend is defined as:
1. a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. 2. a person who gives assistance; patron ; supporter: friends of the Boston Symphony. 3. a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile: Who goes there? Friend or foe? 4. a member of the same nation, party, etc. 5. ( initial capital letter ) a member of the Religious Society of Friends; a Quaker. According to the kind actions of the jw, it sure would seem that they want to be friends. But of course, jws love to redefine words for their benefit.
check out the new may wt.
" is nauseating.

3. "We too need to study diligently and be open-minded when there are adjustments in the understanding of God's Word or in our preaching work."
Open-minded when the GB changes their teachings and they expect all to eagerly accept. But don't be open-minded in questioning the GB teachings in light of the Bible. That is sadly what the WTS wants.
we all know that elders and ministerials are appointed by holy spirit.
i was in the organization for about 25 years and was in 4 different congregations over the years.. in one congregration there was a sister in her mid-50's with an unbelieving husband.
he did not attend meetings.
Do not upset any elder, it can take one who disapproves one.
